Chapter 1584: The Ceremony To Congratulate The Leader On A Blessed Marriage
Gu Mengmeng looked up at the blue sky, smiled gently and said, “I have really returned to Motou Mountains for the dry season… Have you been waiting torturously during this year? Shall I sing a song to comfort you?”
The only response was a gentle breeze.
Gu Mengmeng cleared her throat and sang the song ‘Meeting You At The Right Moment’.
This was the song that she had sung for Gregory many times. But during those times, she would always be hugging her and swaying their bodies together with the tune.
Now, there is only her with the breeze as company.
Before she could wallow in sadness, a series of chirps could be heard.
She looked in the direction of the source of the sound. Countless birds had flown down from the mountains. They were colourful and filled the entire sky, creating a magnificent scene.
The birds opened their wings to soar in the sky. Some flew higher, others lower, and some flew left, others to the right.
Seeing Gu Mengmeng looking at them, all of them transformed into their half-beast form and circled her, then they hummed softly the tune that did not have any lyrics.
This song…
She had heard before.
When Gregory held her in his arms, he had sung this song by her ears.
Gu Mengmeng felt her eyes tearing up. She knew that this was the orchestra that Gregory had prepared for her, a concert that was only for her.
This was the romantic event that he had prepared specially for her.
After one song, the birds dispersed in different directions.
It was as though all these had been a dream and disappearing so unrealistically.
Gu Mengmeng turned back to look at Lucas. Lucas had a smile on his face as he stood beside her and said, “This is Motou Mountains’ ceremony to congratulate the leader on a blessed marriage. It should have been presented last year, but…”
Gu Mengmeng nodded to express her understanding.
Last year, Gregory’s wings had been broken and eyes turned blind. She was forcibly brought away by Samuel’s wings. She had cried her hearts out and had fainted in the end.
Under that sort of situation, it was really inappropriate to carry out such a ceremony.
Even though Gregory was only a beast pet, but he was considered a part of her family. In the Beast World, this meant that he was her man.
“Now who is the leader of Motou Mountains?” Gu Mengmeng did not want the atmosphere to be so heavy, because Gregory had said that he liked it when she smiles, so long as she was smiling, he would feel blissful.
So at least while she was on Motou Mountains, she had to maintain her smile.
Lucas shook his head and said, “Since the past, choosing a leader requires the sensing ability of the faithful messenger. But last year after we went down the mountain, we realised that the faithful messenger had disappeared, so…”
Gu Mengmeng nodded and replied, “Alright, take me to meet Miranda.”
“Yes.” In actual fact, Lucas had some hesitation. But Gu Mengmeng’s partner was Lea and he had Miranda’s life in his hands, so he really did not dare to disobery her commands. Moreover, she was the person that Gregory had protected with all his heart.
And Gregory now… is the deity guarding the Motou Mountains.
After wrapping Gu Mengmeng in the beast skin, Lucas opened his wings to fly up high in the sky and carried her to his own cave.
In the cave, Miranda had a few little vultures following her around. All of them had large and dark eyes, and looked extremely adorable.
Seeing Gu Mengmeng’s arrival, Miranda instinctively took a step back and defended the little vultures in her arms.
Gu Mengmeng laughed softly. Originally, Miranda did not have any maternal instincts. She had treated the child that way previously probably because that child’s father was Cole. She hated Cole and naturally did not want his child to live well, now… she should be very much in love with her partner.
