“This is all thanks to Parker’s father. In the future, Parker will become invincible too. He will surely be able to capture giant beasts.” Memi praised his son, then asked, “Why is there so much mud on your face? I’ll get you some water to clean up.”
“It’s alright. I deliberately did this.” Bai Qingqing lowered her eyes, then asked softly after a moment’s hesitation, “Do you know how to resolve partnership?”
The smile on Memi’s face vanished. Her gaze swept over Bai Qingqing once and landed on the snake tattoo on Bai Qingqing’s ankle, at which pity was seen in her brown eyes.
“Of course. Have you considered carefully?” Memi asked softly.
Bai Qingqing didn’t reply instantly. At the thought of how Cortis had burned himself several times cooking for her, yet when he brought the food to her there wasn’t a hint of impatience, she couldn’t bear to do it.
Eve had said that males only had one chance to become mates with someone. After they were abandoned they couldn’t become mates with anyone else anymore. Was she really going to cut off all possibilities between her and Cortis?

Bai Qingqing howled at Parker. “I’m not carrying his children!”
