Chapter 275 – Xian Zihao Is Finally Here VI
She had just washed her face with cold water, so her skin was still slightly red. There was still moisture in her hair, and there was no makeup on her face. Her haggard appearance was obvious. Even her clothes had been splashed with water.
Jiang Ruolan initially planned to pat BB Cream before returning to the room, but she did not expect to meet with Xian Zihao.
So the moment she saw him, her eyes immediately became cold. Jiang Ruolan turned around and was about to find a stairway when one of Xian Zihao's hands grabbed her arm. His grip was so tight that she had no strength to struggle free.
They were so close to each other. Jiang Ruolan struggled for a bit, but as she did that, she forgot that she was wearing high heels and almost lost her footing. She was nearly about to fall. Xian Zihao immediately gripped on her waist, to stop her from falling.
"Let me go!" Jiang Ruolan was so annoyed right now. Can't Xian Zihao leave her alone?
There were several hotel staff on this floor corridor. Jiang Ruolan wanted to scream, but Xian Zihao quickly pulled her to the stairs, and then, in a dominant way, he took her out of the hotel, to the parking lot. He opened his car door and pushed her inside.
Jiang Ruolan was furious, she did not expect the always gentle Xian Zihao to act like this. She ground her teeth and cursed at him. She wanted to get out of the car but was stopped by him. Xian Zihao immediately fastened the seatbelt and looked at her with a tender look, which made Jiang Ruolan curse even more. "Xian Zihao, what do you think you are doing? Leave me alone! Do you think I will forgive you as I always do?"
Jiang Ruolan tried to push him away, to keep him away from her. She couldn't bear to look at his tender eyes. If this carried on, she might really end up forgiving him.
Instead of indulging her, Xian Zihao quickly grabbed her hand, not allowing her to move. While she stared at him, he only gave her a deep look before pressing her hand down. "Don't move recklessly."
They were so close to each other and his breath hit her ears. Jiang Ruolan gritted her teeth and glared at him. Xian Zihao closed the door and walked around the car, to the driver seat. As soon as he got inside, he locked the door, immediately blocking her way out.
Xian Zihao drove his car out of the parking lot, moving in the opposite direction from where Jiang Ruolan stayed. Even though her pregnancy had reached two months, her reaction was still very heavy.
Due to her unstable emotional state, Jiang Ruolan suddenly felt dizzy. She frowned and finally lost her rationale. Jiang Ruolan angrily tried to unlock the car door, but she could not open it even after a long time. She took two deep breaths and sat on her seat, motionlessly.
"Your Chief Editor Wan was asking me for a chance to interview. What do you think? Should I agree with it?" Xian Zihao asked softly. His usual cool eyes still impassive, but warmed when he looked at her.
Jiang Ruolan took a deep breath. She had already sat in the car, so it was useless for her to struggle. Rational finally returned to her brain, but she still kept calm. She stayed silent for a while and then said coldly, "This is President Xian's business, it has nothing to do with me."
Jiang Ruolan would not be happy that the company would interview someone like Xian Zihao, nor would she be surprised that he had made an exception to agree. For her, this was only just a job, and everything else concerning him had nothing to do with her.
Jiang Ruolan had already reached the decision that she would never meet Xian Zihao again or be by his side. But look at it now. He was driving her to an unknown location. Perhaps once, she would have felt exceptionally at ease whenever she was with him, but now, fear had grown in her heart because of that intense rejection.
At this moment, her phone rang. She looked down to see that Jiang Yijun was calling her. Jiang Ruolan wanted to answer the call, but before she could touch the green button on the screen, her phone was suddenly snatched by Xian Zihao. She was shocked.
"Give me back my phone!"
"Sit down." Xian Zihao whispered.
Jiang Ruolan was furious as she looked at the gentle face that had always been kind to her. Although there was not even the slightest impatience in Xian Zihao's expression and he was still patient with her, Jiang Ruolan did not have the patience to waste time with him.
She immediately unfastened her seat belt and went to his side, trying to grab her phone back. The phone had already quieted down and was no longer ringing. Seeing Jiang Ruolan like that and how she didn't wear a seatbelt, Xian Zihao immediately let her snatching her phone back.
Jiang Ruolan immediately retreated after getting the phone. She looked down at the screen and was about to call Jiang Yijun back when her phone suddenly rang again.
This time, it was Wan Shoushan.
Xian Zihao frowned slightly when he heard her cellphone ringtone that pierced the eardrum.
Jiang Ruolan had always wanted to change the ringtone back to its usual tone, but she forgot to change it because she was busy. Feeling Xian Zihao's eyes on her, she simply answered the call.
"Hello, Brother Wan." Her tone was helpless. If she had received Jiang Yijun's call just now, she could have directly said that she was in Xian Zihao's car. But now facing Wan Shoushan, she really didn't know how to explain her situation.
"Didn't you just say that you would immediately come down after going to the washroom? Why haven't you returned yet? Why didn't you answer Director Jiang's call?" Wan Shoushan's voice sounded somewhat anxious as if he thought something had happened to her. "Did something happen?"
Something happened alright.
Xian Zihao happened!
"I… Would you believe me if I said that I was kidnapped?" Jiang Ruolan hesitantly looked at Xian Zihao. His gaze also swept over her at the same time, carrying a hint of helplessness. Jiang Ruolan fiercely glared at him and turned her face away, refusing to look at him.
"Kidnapping?"
"I'm just kidding. Brother Wan, I'm fine. You guys eat first, don't wait for me." Jiang Ruolan spoke seriously into the phone, but she wasn't sure of her current condition. Coupled with the car's increasing speed, she felt like throwing up again.
Jiang Ruolan couldn't help but swallow her saliva. Before Wan Shoushan could ask more, she quickly hung up the phone and looked outside the window. She said coldly, "Let me off."
She leaned against the car seat. For some reason, she felt as if all the strength in her body had been sucked out of her.
However, Xian Zihao ignored her and continued glancing at her a few times. He smiled helplessly. His handsome face was covered in the darkness, giving off a charisma that Jiang Ruolan couldn't ignore.
She allowed herself to speak calmly, "Xian Zihao, we are done here. Why can't you let me go and let me live my life peacefully?"
