Chapter 290 – This Rain Is Very Meaningful To Me
Jiang Ruolan did not know what to say, so she had to make excuses and pretend her ankle hurt. Xian Zihao helped her sit up against the headboard and put an ice bag at her feet. "Lie like this and don't move."
As he spoke, Xian Zihao moved the ice bag a little to look at the swelling on her ankle. He seemed to be checking if the swelling had subsided a bit or not.
Xian Zihao gently caressed her ankle. Although Jiang Ruolan still felt some pain, she restrained herself and did not pull her foot away.
"Did you have a sprain before you found me?" he asked suddenly.
If Jiang Ruolan had her sprain after she found him, her ankle wouldn't have been swollen like this, unless she had been sprain for a long time and had been limping around in the potholes.
"I wasn't injured for long. It was just that I accidentally stepped on a rock." Jiang Ruolan pretended to be in pain and quickly pushed his hand away, covering the swelling with her hand and not letting him see.

"Is money more important, or is your foot more important? Your ankle was so swollen that you can't even get up wearing your shoes. So tell me, how are you going to work with this kind of condition?" His eyes were gentle, but his tone was extremely serious.
Jiang Ruolan frowned and whispered, "Money is more important."
Xian Zihao was taken aback for a moment. With a frown, he asked, "Since when did you start to talk back?" As he spoke, he immediately got up and lifted her by the waist.

"Take you to the shower."
Jiang Ruolan did not resist but only looked up at his care eyes as he brought her to the bathroom. Xian Zihao was carrying her like she was the most precious treasure in the world, and the love in his eyes could not be faked.
Perhaps there may be some things she can accept the explanation, but it doesn't mean she can get over with it. Maybe Xian Zihao was scared if he told her a full explanation, it would push her away from him, or at least he tried to give her some time to think clearly about everything.
As he carried her into the bathroom, Jiang Ruolan unconsciously wrapped her arms around his neck.

Xian Zihao's footstep paused for a moment before he placed her in the hot tub. He lowered his head to look at her discontented expression and then smiled. "Did I say something wrong?"
With that, he lowered the water temperature to a moderate level.
Jiang Ruolan didn't say anything. She carefully placed her feet on the edge of the bathtub and said with a blushing face, "You go out first, I'll wash myself."
She could feel the fading flame in his eyes light up again. Jiang Ruolan quickly pulled the towel to cover her body. She was naked and her stomach was bulging a little, making her look like she had gained a lot of weight.
Xian Zihao only smiled, took the towel, and placed it within her reach.
"Wash well and call me when you're done. You can't walk on your own right now. If you randomly try to force yourself, you should know the consequences."
Jiang Ruolan nodded her head as she stroked her belly. "I know. I'll call you when I'm done."
Xian Zihao left the bathroom with a relieved expression.
The heat in the quiet bathroom increased. Jiang Ruolan raised her head and leaned against the bathtub's edge weakly.
Jiang Ruolan initially thought that their love was not like the love that should be present in every married couple. She thought that their feelings were none other than responsibility, a duty, but when she left him, she discovered that she really loved him.
And in this rain, in that awning, his uncaring kisses and explanations, his love and patience, when he came to her in the rain and took her, who had nearly fallen, and carried her across the long, uneven farm. Jiang Ruolan was stunned, thinking that it wouldn't be good for her to be caught out like this, so she quietly went back to the hot tub and continued to soak in hot water.
