Chapter 562 – High Fever
Since it was Sunday, Xian Guiying didn't set the alarm clock and she didn't sleep well at night, so she slept until around 8 am with Qin Wenqian in her arms.
When she woke up, she felt a burning sensation in her hand and immediately opened her eyes. Xian Guiying quickly looked down to see Qin Wenqian in her arms. She was still curled up, asleep, but her face was flushed.
Xian Guiying placed her hand on Qin Wenqian's forehead, touched her body, and immediately sat up. "Qianqian?!"
On the other hand, downstairs, Darna and Dalisay were cleaning the house in the morning, as usual. Suddenly, both of them heard frantic footsteps coming from upstairs.
Before Dalisay could ask a question, she saw Xian Guiying, who was wearing a coat, quickly carrying Qin Wenqian in her arms as she descended the stairs. Dalisay and Darna quickly went towards her. "Madam, why are you–"
"Qianqian has a fever again. Her temperature is very hot. Last time, the doctor said that if she has a fever again, she must be sent to the hospital on time. Dalisay, you know how to drive, quickly take the key to my car and drive us to the hospital."
When Dalisay and Darna came towards her, Xian Guiying immediately passed Qin Wenqian, who was tightly wrapped in a blanket, into their arms. It was as if she had forgotten about the pain in her ankle, and she was only urging them on.
"But Madam, your ankle …" The two servants knew how serious the fever was for Qin Wenqian, but at the same time, they worried about Xian Guiying's ankle too.
"I'm fine. It's just that I might not be able to drive for the time being. You're driving while I'm sitting in the back." With that, Xian Guiying immediately put on the sleeves of her coat, and without bothering to change into her pajamas, she walked out.
As they led Qin Wenqian out the door, a dark gray Mercedes drove in. Wei Zhensheng frowned at the sight of Qin Wenqian wrapped in a blanket.
"Qianqian has a fever." Xian Guiying didn't know why Wei Zhengsheng would come to her place in the early morning, but she didn't have enough time to explain. She just glanced at him before going to her car.
"We go in my car." Wei Zhengsheng immediately went to support her without saying anything. He lowered his head and looked at Xian Guiying's feet. She was wearing slippers. Seeing that her ankle was wrapped in gauze, but there was still a great swelling, he raised his head and looked at her worriedly. "Your ankle is very swollen, yet you are still running?"
Seeing that Xian Guiying didn't care about her injury, Wei Zhengsheng didn't say anything. He signaled to Dalisay and Darna to take the child to his car and immediately help Xian Guiying.
Wei Zhengsheng drove faster than Dalisay, and he was very stable. Xian Guiying didn't say anything because the important thing right now was her daughter's condition, so she followed him to the car.
As they walked, Wei Zhengsheng looked down at her feet. "Can you hold on? How did you get downstairs?"
Xian Guiying didn't say anything. She just opened the passenger door with one hand and was about to get in when she heard an engine sound of another car.
They both turned around and saw that Qin Gengxin had driven back at some point. Wei Zhengsheng's car blocked the entrance to the courtyard, so his car could not enter. At the same time, the door was pushed open from the inside. Qin Gengxin glanced over and saw Wei Zhengsheng was helping Xian Guiying into the car, with his hands on her waist.
He walked over and put one hand on the roof of the dark gray Mercedes-Benz. He looked at Xian Guiying with a serious expression. "What happened to Qianqian?"
Xian Guiying didn't think that Qin Gengxin would suddenly return at this time, or rather, she didn't think that he would return at all.
She only glanced at him once. She originally didn't complain nor hate him. From the look in his eyes, it could be seen that he was truly concerned for his daughter.
Xian Guiying suddenly felt like laughing.
Qin Gengxin promised his daughter that he would stay, but he didn't come home all night. Qin Wenqian cried in her arms for so long last night, probably because of the recent weather change and because she cried too much, her body became unwell.
She quietly looked at him but said nothing. She went with Wei Zhengsheng and helped herself into his car, closing the door.
"Mr. Qin, Miss Wenqian suddenly had a high fever. The doctor said that it was dangerous for Miss Wenqian's body. She must be sent to the hospital immediately!" Darna didn't dare to be negligent and immediately answered for everyone.
Qin Gengxin immediately frowned and reached out to hug the child. "Give her to me!"
Darna was stunned, but she still let go of Qin Wenqian.
The moment Qin Gengxin took over Qin Wenqian, who was sleeping soundly under a blanket, Xian Guiying became furious and was about to get out of the car to take the child away. Wei Zhengsheng just stood next to the car and watched Qin Gengxin take the child to the Bentley.
"Qin Gengxin, do you know what disease the child is suffering from? Do you know which hospital you should send her to?" Wei Zhengsheng's eyes were a little cold. Although his deep voice didn't have any threatening pressure or anger, it was clearly a bit arrogant.
"If it's like this, where else can we send her to if not the city's Children's Hospital? You think I'm an idiot?" Qin Gengxin glanced at him and then carried the child over his arm and walked away.
"Qin Gengxin! Put my daughter down!" Xian Guiying knew that the most important thing right now was to send Qin Wenqian to the hospital as soon as possible. She didn't want to delay any longer, but she suddenly opened the car door and got out.
Wei Zhengsheng supported her. "Be careful."
Qin Gengxin glanced at them. Seeing the patience and undisguised concern for Xian Guiying in Wei Zhengsheng's eyes, his thin lips slightly pursed. He seemed to know that the sudden early morning situation might be related to last night.
Qin Gengxin didn't say anything and didn't want to delay his daughter's rescue. He just held his daughter firmly and walked quickly to the car, putting the child in the backseat.
Only then did Xian Guiying realize that there was a child safety seat in the back seat of his car.
Was the chair installed yesterday or before he returned this morning?
No one told her the answer. After Qin Gengxin had settled Qin Wenqian down, he went to the driver seat and drove off in a cloud of dust without delay.
Xian Guiying extended her hand to stop him, but it was too late. She just took a deep breath and suddenly felt an inexplicable bitterness hidden deep in her heart.
"The experts at the Children's Hospital are all on good terms with him. It's good that he sends the child there first. Get in the car, I'll take you to the hospital." Wei Zhengsheng patted her back gently, supported her with one hand, and advised her in a gentle voice.
Xian Guiying knew of Qin Gengxin's influence in Boston. The pediatrician at the city's largest children's hospital was a long-time acquaintance with Xian Zihao and Qin Gengxin. Previously, she was able to get those experts to treat Qin Wenqian because they owed her brother a favor.
