Chapter 567 – Even If It’s A One Percent Chance, I Still Can’t Give Up
Knowing that Qin Wenqian's fever had subsided around six o'clock, Xian Guiying finally leaned back in bed and took a nap. When Qin Gengxin pushed open the door and entered, he saw she was sleeping.
Qin Gengxin walked over and saw that the swelling on her ankle had lessened quite a bit, but the doctor had said that she absolutely could not move in the next two days. He then looked up at her sleeping face.
Xian Guiying inherited a small part of her mother's face. Zhan An's charm was also present on her face. Staring at her slightly trembling eyelashes as she closed her eyes, Qin Gengxin seemed to notice what she was doing. His eyebrows furrowed as he glanced at her trembling eyelashes. He couldn't help but laugh.
"Get up. Dalisay and Darna have already carried Qianqian to the parking lot. I'll take you guys back."
After saying that, Qin Gengxin stood up and no longer sat on the edge of the bed. He had no intention of exposing her actions. He said only a few words before opening the door to the observation room.
Xian Guiying immediately opened her eyes. She was initially asleep, but when Qin Gengxin sat on the bed, she woke up despite his light movements.
Her natural keen senses made it impossible for her to sleep calmly when she realized someone was watching her. At that moment, Xian Guiying seemed to be able to feel his gaze on her. Although they had known each other for years, she realized that there were times when she did not understand him.
It was just like that moment. He had clearly wanted to do something, but he had still stopped in the end.
Xian Guiying sat up and looked in his direction. Qin Gengxin stood by the door, looking at her calmly, waiting for her to wake up.
Xian Guiying combed her hair and smiled. "Let's go."
As she spoke, she straightened her clothes and prepared to get off the bed.
Qin Gengxin glanced at her foot and walked over. He turned his back to her and suddenly bent down. Xian Guiying was stunned.
"Stop dawdling, you can't walk right now. Get on, I'll carry you downstairs." His voice was neither warm nor cold, but at least there was no hint of impatience.
Xian Guiying hesitated for a moment, then leaned forward and hugged his neck. Qin Gengxin wrapped his hand around her back, adjusting her position before he stood up and walked out of the room.
Xian Guiying quietly rested her head on his shoulder. At first, she was a bit embarrassed. However, when he carried her into the elevator, she slightly turned her head to look at his face that was just inches away from her.
Qin Gengxin, however, stared at the numbers in the elevator while embracing her. Even though Xian Guiying was tall and not a petite woman, she's still very light. All this time, he seemed afraid that she was going to fall, so he held her tightly.
Xian Guiying's nose was filled with his fragrance, a faint mint with a very light tobacco smell in it.
Qin Gengxin was used to smoking. Although he wasn't a bad smoker, he smoked quite a lot. However, the smoke coming from his body was very light and not pungent. It was mixed with the faint fragrance of mint and shampoo, making him smell good.
Noticing that Xian Guiying was looking at him, Qin Gengxin only pursed his lips slightly and didn't say anything before the elevator stopped on the first floor.
They were silent all the way. Dalisay and Darna, who had been in the hospital all day, fell asleep leaning against each other in the back seat of the car.
Qin Wenqian was also sleeping soundly on the child safety seat.
When they got home, Qin Gengxin got out of the car and gently carried the child in his arms, doing his best not to wake the child.
He carried the child upstairs. Even though Qin Wenqian's fever was gone, Qin Gengxin was worried something would happen to her at night, so he immediately put Qin Wenqian in his large bedroom instead of sending her to the children's room.
Dalisay and Darna got out of the car in a daze and helped Xian Guiying into the room.
Xian Guiying turned around and told them to go rest early.
"You should go to bed early as well." Qin Gengxin was originally sitting on the edge of the bed watching Qin Wenqian sleep. When he heard Xian Guiying entered, he turned around and glanced at her. After that, he got up and walked over, making a gesture to help her sit down on the bed.
Xian Guiying looked at Qin Wenqian, then touched her small head gently. Pulling her hand away, she gently said, "Fortunately, we were able to send her to the hospital on time. I didn't ask for anything else except for her to pass her sixth birthday safely. Over the years, her resilience has been getting better like other normal healthy children."
"When Dr. Ella said Qianqian was a child with Down's syndrome, I knew that she was in good physical condition. If she is lucky, she will be treated slowly. When she grows up, she will look no different from other children. She will just grow up a little bit slower." Qin Gengxin said.
"The doctor carefully examined her body. Her disease is very mild. After good treatment, everything that we need to worry about will be cured." Xian Guiying insisted.
Qin Gengxin only glanced at her. "There's only a fifteen percent chance of total cure."
"Even if it's a one percent chance, I still can't give up. I believe that my daughter will be able to create a miracle."
Qin Gengxin also believed that every woman believed in their child so confidently.
He only looked at Xian Guiying with his deep eyes before nodding in understanding. "That's right. My daughter can create miracles."
