The reason why Gu Liancheng called for this meeting was because he knew that he was sick and in critical condition. As he did not have much time left, he hurriedly summoned Gu Jinglian back to the Gu family, intending to pass the authority to him while he still had the strength to do so.

Luo Shengjie smiled slyly and suddenly took a step back. The men in black surrounding Gu Jinglian raised their guns, pointing the black muzzles toward his forehead!
With a calm expression, Gu Jinglian gazed at Luo Shengjie indifferently. His devilish smirk still remained on his face, as if the weapons pointing at him were mere illusions.
His thin lips parted slightly, and a cold and charismatic voice sounded. “Luo Shengjie, what are you trying to do?”
“Can’t you even tell? Today is your death day!”
As he spoke, Luo Shengjie’s eyes revealed a vicious glint. “I didn’t expect the Gu family’s young master, who ran away from home and disappeared a year ago, to still be concerned about the Gu family’s matters!”
“I’m a member of the Gu family. Shouldn’t I be concerned about my family’s matters?”
Gu Jinglian’s gaze revealed a hint of playfulness as he scanned the men surrounding him. He remarked nonchalantly, “Interesting. I didn’t expect that you would need to mobilize such a huge team to welcome me!”
Luo Shengjie remained silent. However, Gu Jinglian suddenly smirked mockingly and slowly took off his sunglasses. His charming and alluring eyes gleamed with hostility, while a hint of arrogance and contempt crept into his eyes.
“Looks like someone cares more about the position of the Gu family’s head than me.”
He gently stroked the cat’s soft fur with his fingertips. With an ambiguous smile, he asked, “My death date?”
He paused for a moment before his voice suddenly turned icy-cold. “I’ll wait and see exactly whose death it is.”
His strange smile suddenly made Luo Shengjie feel a chill run down his spine. Fear started to engulf him.
Noticing this tense situation, Gu Jinglian’s subordinates quickly surrounded them. Luo Shengjie sneered and threatened loudly, “One more step and your young master’s head will explode! Hurry up and retreat!”
Ignoring his words, Gu Jinglian’s subordinates continued to inch forward.
However, in the next second, a woman’s calm voice rang across the dark night.
“Nobody move!”
Shocked, everyone glanced in the direction of her voice.
At some point, a woman in red had already broken through the encirclement. The gun in her hand was pointed accurately at Gu Jinglian’s temple.
Gu Jinglian’s subordinates turned pale with fright and rushed forward.
The woman shouted again, “Don’t come near!”
Gu Jinglian could not help but shoot another glance at her.
The woman was wearing a scarlet windbreaker and a black vest underneath. She was tall and slender, her figure well-proportioned.
