Chapter 128: Spent A Lot of Money
Guan Tao nodded in agreement. However, her heart ached for Jian Ai when she thought about how she couldn’t even bear to order a meatball for lunch.
“Is it expensive?” Guan Tao asked with a frown.
Jian Ai smiled relaxedly. “It’s okay. I can afford it.”
Seeing this, Guan Tao could only sigh silently in her heart.
Because of the love letter incident a while ago, everyone knew that Jian Ai liked Lin Yi. Although Lin Yi rejected Jian Ai, in Guan Tao’s eyes, she still had feelings for Lin Yi based on Jian Ai’s actions.
Not that she felt sorry for Jian Ai, but she was worried that Jian Ai’s efforts would not be reciprocated.
Not long after, a limousine stopped in front of the two of them. The window rolled down and Xia Qinghuan’s face poked out. “Jian Ai, Guan Tao, get in the car quickly!”
Through the window, Jian Ai saw Lin Yi, Yan Tian, and Gao Yang inside the car. Beside Gao Yang was Yu Mengyao.
The two of them quickly opened the car door and bent down to get into the car. Then, they sat beside Xia Qinghuan. Guan Tao immediately looked around and sized up the interior of this car. She said with a puzzled expression, “Eh, this doesn’t look like the one we were sitting in last time.”
When Xia Qinghuan heard this, she smiled and explained, “The last time, we were sitting in Yan Tian’s car. Today, this car belongs to Lin Yi’s family. Both of them have extended Stretch Lincoln Limousines. The model of the car is the same, but the interior is different.”
Guan Tao nodded as if she understood.
There were a few branded shopping bags in the corner of the car. They were Xia Qinghuan’s and the rest’s birthday present for Lin Yi. As soon as Jian Ai got in, Xia Qinghuan saw the bag in Jian Ai’s hand. She immediately looked at Jian Ai curiously and asked, “Oh, a gift for Lin Yi?”
It was a gift for Lin Yi, so Jian Ai didn’t argue. She nodded indifferently and handed the gift to Lin Yi. “Happy birthday. It’s a little something from Guan Tao and me.”
Guan Tao was startled and quickly waved her hand. “No, no. Lin Yi, don’t listen to her nonsense. Jian Ai bought this gift. It had nothing to do with me. She saw that I didn’t buy a gift and said that on purpose!”
Guan Tao was a bit embarrassed. “Lin Yi, I don’t have much money, so I didn’t buy you a gift. I hope you don’t mind.”
Lin Yi was wearing a flowery shirt and a pair of light gray jeans. His new hair was a little shorter than usual, but it made his face look better.
He smiled and said to Guan Tao that it was fine. Then he reached out to take Jian Ai’s gift. He stared at Jian Ai for two seconds with his bright eyes before smiling and whispering, “Thank you!”
Yan Tian glanced at the shopping bag from the side. When he saw it was a Guoyou fountain pen, he couldn’t help but look at Jian Ai in shock.

Jian Ai only smiled and said nothing.
