His cold and distant gaze appeared pleased at her obedient reply. He lifted his hand and gently caressed her long hair. The intention in his eyes was clear. “Fang Xinxin…”
“Bai Qinghao, it’s not convenient now…” She was helpless. This really was not up to her. She had no choice.
He ignored her and was about to proceed further.

He personally retrieved a new set of clothes and handed it to her. After that, he quickly left the room.
Fang Xinxin saw that his movements were almost stiff from the way he was restraining himself. She hurriedly changed her clothes and tried to keep up with his pace. However, she was still one step behind.
She searched the enormous study room and the extravagant living room on the first floor but could not find him. She asked one of the helpers on the night shift. “Where’s Bai Qinghao?”
“Young Master went out,” the helper responded respectfully.
“Where did he go?” She continued asking.
“He did not inform us.” The helper shook his head.
Fang Xinxin brought her phone out to give Bai Qinghao a call but heard his ringtone from the staircase.
Butler Zhao held Bai Qinghao’s phone as he descended from the stairs. He approached her and respectfully informed her. “Miss Fang, Young Master did not take his phone with him. He left instructions for me to wait for him in the living room.”
“I’ll wait for him too, then.” She sat down on the luxurious sofa in the living room and rubbed her forehead to ease her headache. She reached for the remote control on the coffee table to switch the television on.
She carelessly switched through a few channels. From military related media to animal documentaries to ridiculous dramas… However, she soon found that she couldn’t focus on any of it.
She was too worried about Bai Qinghao.
She felt a lot flustered internally and decided to switch the television off.
After ten minutes, Bai Qinghao returned. Fang Xinxin saw him entering through the door and rushed to welcome him. She urgently asked him. “Where did you go?” The concern in her voice could not be mistaken for anything else.
Her concern caused his heart to warm up. However, he still responded coldly and in a distant manner as was his habit. “Nothing much. I went out for a walk and stood in the breeze for a while.”
He would never let her know that a simple cold shower was useless for him.
He called a doctor over and received an injection with tranquilizing effects. Of course, this also had to be concealed from her, to prevent her from worrying.
Fang Xinxin saw that his complexion was fine and gradually relaxed. “Alright then.”
Bai Qinghao took off his thick, large coat and placed it over her shoulders. He furrowed his brows in heartache. “It’s cold at night. Don’t catch a chill.”
