“Miss Fang, I really wasn’t trying to fool you. This isn’t my fault,” Ya Lun explained pitifully.
“Is it my fault, then?”
It was our Boss who refused to let him go. As his second-in-command, there was nothing I could have done. Although he felt extremely bitter about this, his boss had instructed him to shoulder this wrongdoing.
Thus, Ya Lun could only reply. “We’re both not in the wrong.”
Fang Xinxin understood that Ya Lun did not possess any reasons to keep Wang Liangping away from her.
It was likely that someone else had interfered with this matter behind the scenes.

“I’m abroad right now. I was planning on returning today, but I’m suddenly being pursued for revenge. Give me a few days. After I kill these people, I’ll immediately return to the country and hand him over to you.” Ya Lun lifted his phone and showed her the hotel room he was in. “I can hear their footsteps. They’re on their way here right now!”
Indeed. A moment later, with a loud crash, the hotel room was kicked open. Several men dressed in black suits and masks then rushed into the room, firing their guns at him.
Ya Lun kicked the bed forward to block the bullets and climbed out of the window. He then snuck his way into the room next door. “Miss Fang, they are pursuing me. I’ll have to end the call here. See you when I’m back!”
Fang Xinxin stared at her phone in silence for several seconds.
Given that his life was at stake, she would give him some time.
She could remain patient for several more days.
She glanced at the middle-aged man in the room. “Your second-in-command is being pursued. Aren’t you going to help him?”
“He said that he could handle this alone.”
Fang Xinxin shrugged carelessly and left the unassuming ‘private home’.
She walked down the street and enjoyed the cool breeze.
She had been especially busy for the past few days. Why did it seem like she had forgotten about something?
