“Once the Tian Xing Grass arrives, I will instruct my men to send it over immediately,” said Gao Wentian with a smile. “Miss Ling, please rest assured regarding this matter.”
Ling Chuxi also smiled. “Young Master Gao, I will remember this big favour you have given to me. Thank you.”
“There’s no need to be worried about it.” Gao Wentian’s smile was formal from start to end.
In the end, Ling Chuxi paid the three thousand taels and left with some of the herbs she needed. After Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen left, the shopkeeper standing behind Gao Wentian was full of questions.

“Huh?” asked the shopkeeper. He was lost, unable to comprehend what Gao Wentian meant.
The herbs Ling Chuxi bought were precious herbs, but he could not figure out what she bought them for. He had never heard of her being able to refine pills or of her knowing an expert who could. What was she buying them for?
He just could not see what it was about her that made the young master look at her differently. The other day, he had seen how the young miss had returned home crying. He never thought that the young master would have no intention of requesting for an explanation on her behalf. And what’s more, the young master even treated Ling Chuxi in such a courteous manner. He was totally unable to comprehend.
Gao Wentian looked at the shopkeeper and let out a small laugh. “You can’t make sense of it, can you?”
The shopkeeper very honestly nodded.
“If you could understand, then you would be the young master of the Gao Clan’s Chamber of Commerce and not me,” said Gao Wentian with a smirk.
The shopkeeper shook his head in fear, stunned silly, not knowing what to say next. Gao Wentian did not mind the shopkeeper’s attitude. He was not very bright, but he was incredibly loyal. This trait of his was something Gao Wentian was satisfied with, and he was also willing to say a little more to dispel his doubts.
As he stood up, Gao Wentian’s expression became grim. “I am a businessman, and also a gambler. I’m taking a gamble that Ling Chuxi will have big achievements in the future. When that time comes, there would be no need to hope for her repayment. Just hoping that she does not put us in a difficult situation would be sufficient.”
“Huh? Young Master, will this Ling Chuxi really have big achievements in the future?” asked the shopkeeper, frowning to indicate his doubt.
“That’s why I said I am taking a gamble.”
Smiling, Gao Wentian ignored the lost shopkeeper and returned to the back of the hall. The shopkeeper was left alone standing at his original spot, scratching his head in confusion.
Finally, he decided to stop thinking about since he could not understand. No matter what, the young master’s decision was always right. Just like the young master said, if he could understand the young master’s thinking, the he would not be just a shopkeeper who had to work hard.
