Chapter 146: Even Experts Fear Death
Qin Nanfeng’s living quarters were easy to find. Ling Chuxi silently approached, but just as she closed in, she was noticed.
Qin Nanfeng’s somewhat deep voice sounded from inside the house, “Who is trying to visit me so late at night? How exciting. Since you are here, why don’t you show yourself?”
The next moment, the dark house lit up.
Ling Chuxi was not caught by surprise either. Qin Nanfeng was already at Battle Qi Level-8. Being able to notice her presence was not something odd. Calmly pushing the window open, she leaped inside.
When Qin Nanfeng took a good look at the person who had just entered, he was stunned. She was just a petite maiden, and couldn’t be older than sixteen or seventeen. Her looks were ordinary and her face was full of freckles. But her eyes… her eyes were gleaming, like a sharp, unsheathed sword. Those eyes did not match her ordinary looks at all.

“Why are you looking for me?” asked Qin Nanfeng, frowning with caution. His hand was already on his sword. He did not let down his guard just because his opponent was young.
Ling Chuxi glanced at his hand. Indeed, one of the fingers on his right hand was still bandaged. That must be the injury inflicted by the second elder.
She suddenly spoke, her tone innocent, “A finger on your right hand is wounded. Does it hurt?”
A stunned Qin Nanfeng subconsciously answered her, “Huh? It’s still alright.”
“Then, if your entire right hand was crippled, would that still be fine?”
A peculiar smile suddenly appeared on Ling Chuxi’s face as she fiercely drew her sword with such speed, like thunder roaring before one is able to cover their ears, and attacked.

Astonished, Qin Nanfeng quickly drew his sword to deal with her attack. The burst of Battle Qi and murderous intent this young maiden released was frightening. Who exactly was she? Asking about his hand… could it be?!
“You are someone from the Ling family!” he shouted as he raised his sword to block her attack.
“Take a guess.”
With a smile as beatiful as flowers on her face, Ling Chuxi pushed away Qing Nanfeng’s sword in a relaxed manner, before quickly redirecting the tip of her sword towards his throat.
“How gutsy! You may have come here of your own free will, but it won’t be so easy to leave!”
Qin Nanfeng was sure that this person was from the Ling family, and was obviously here to exact revenge on behalf of the Ling family’s second elder. Seeing the lazy attitude of the young maiden before him, his anger rose as he felt that she was scorning him.
Therefore, he circulated the Battle Qi in his body and was getting ready to take down his opponent with a single move. He had already made plans in his mind. As long as he could take down this young maiden, she would be a good bargaining chip, one that could be used to threaten the Ling family!
Qin Nanfeng’s plans were good, but was it really so easy for things to go as per his desires?
Ling Chuxi sniggered as she retreated to the side of the window, acting as if she was about to flee.
“Where do you think you are running to?!” shouted Qin Nanfeng.
However, he never thought that Ling Chuxi would halt her movements and actually approach him instead of retreating. Her sword stance had also changed in an instant. Previously, Ling Chuxi’s sword stance was just fierce, but at this moment, it had the determination of wanting to die together!
