“All right, Little Chuxi, I’ll take my leave first. I really anticipate your performance during the fighting ring competition.” Huangfu Qingjue stretched out his hand to gently pat Ling Chuxi’s head as he smiled. “You have me in everything, so you don’t have to worry.”

“True. Indeed, indeed. Little Chuxi is unrivalled. You must get first place in this time’s fighting ring competition. I will reward you if you get first place,” said Huangfu Qingjue with a smile upon hearing Ling Chuxi’s confident words.
“Oh? What reward?” Ling Chuxi’s eyes lit up as she asked excitedly.
“How about a kiss?” replied Huangfu Qingjue with a wicked smile.
“You might as well reward me with a roasted suckling pig,” said Ling Chuxi as she waved her hand in disdain.
The corner of Huangfu Qingjue’s lips twitched. He didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry. Could it be that he himself was not even as charming as a roasted sucking pig in her eyes? Forget it. This little thing only knew how to eat. Since he knew her, didn’t he already know this?

Just then, a knock sounded at her door.
“Chuxi, Zhuoyi is here,” said Ling Yichen’s voice from behind the door.
“Eh? Ah? Zhuoyi! That guy is finally here!” exclaimed Ling Chuxi happily. She stood up and immediately went to open the door. “Where is he now?”
“At the academy. He will be coming over immediately once he’s finished there. I have sent someone to pick him up.” Ling Yichen smiled. “That’s right, how was it entering the palace today? Did the emperor and Consort Li make things difficult for you?”
“No. It was nothing to worry about. Consort Li is very nice,” said Ling Chuxi happily with a shake of her head. “Since Zhuoyi is here, let’s have a big meal tonight to celebrate.”
The main point was the latter part of her sentence. Eating was the main point. “All right, sure,” agreed Ling Yichen with a smile. His eyes were filled with the intention to pamper.
