Chapter 377: Just Admit Defeat
Baili Han gazed at the Ling Chuxi duo meaningfully, then drew out his sword as well. His sword was simple, but it gave off a solemn majesty, like the mountains.
“I’ll let you see my true abilities this time!” Duan Qingchou sneered and slashed his sword at Baili Han.
Ling Chuxi’s heart sank upon hearing those words. During their last fight, Duan Qingchou’s abilities were already quite shocking even without him exerting his full cultivation. What would his true cultivation be like?
As she was thinking about it, there was a crisp ‘ding ding ding’ sound from the fighting stage. The battle had begun.
Battle Qi was surging from the fighting ring, and the two figures which were moving at high speed could barely be seen.
Ling Chuxi’s expression became solemn. The situation was similar to their fight the last time. Initially, Baili Han was not at a disadvantage, but as time went on, Duan Qingchou’s Battle Qi became stronger and Baili Han’s situation became more dangerous.
In the fighting ring, the two figures had leapt apart. There was a muffled ringing, and Baili Han’s graceful sweep of his sword was surprisingly deflected by Duan Qingchou’s move. Immediately after that, Duan Qingchou slammed his palm into Baili Han’s chest.
Baili Han staggered back, his chest heaving. It was obvious that he had sustained internal injuries.
Duan Qingchou’s Battle Qi was odd, but what was the reason for it?
Ling Chuxi was frowning as she contemplated it. She had personally experienced the flawless swordsmanship of Baili Han. If not for the extraordinary ability of the Luo Chen Sword and the condensing of her Battle Qi to a single point, she would not have been able to break Baili Han’s defense. However, that majestic sword which was as solemn as the mountains was actually deflected by a single move from Duan Qingchou. Was his cultivation really that powerful?
“Your cultivation is just mediocre!” Before Baili Han could recover, Duan Qingchou attacked again. However, in just a short moment, his Battle Qi seemed to have weakened considerably compared to earlier.
Baili Han glanced at Ling Chuxi. He saw the shock in her eyes and knew that she had yet to figure out what was strange about Duan Qingchou’s Battle Qi. He clenched his teeth and swung his sword again to face him.
Once again, the two of them engaged in a fierce battle. As both swords collided, Duan Qingchou’s Battle Qi became tyrannical once again. Not long after that, Baili Han’s sword was knocked out of his grasp and he was kicked in the chest by Duan Qingchou. Baili Han crashed to the ground heavily and spat blood from his mouth.
“Stop!” Ling Chuxi shouted in panic.
It was as if Duan Qingchou did not hear her as he slashed Baili Han’s thigh. It was clear that he wanted to cripple Baili Han completely. If a cultivator’s hands or feet were crippled, it would be worse than actually killing him. Duan Qingchou actually had such a cruel intention!
As the crowd watched his ruthlessness, sounds of exclamation could be heard from the watching platform. The spectators of Nan Xia Country could not bear to continue watching, their hearts caught in their throats.
However, there was a determined light in Baili Han’s eyes. He took a deep breath and used his sword to stand, managing to dodge the attack swiftly. Even though his actions were fast, he was still slower than Duan Qingchou’s brutal move. A long bloody wound was drawn across his thigh and blood dripped onto the floor steadily. Soon, a pool of blood had appeared on the floor.
“Baili, just admit defeat!” Ling Chuxi anxiously called out to Baili Han.
Baili Han turned to look at Ling Chuxi and shook his head. Ling Chuxi could see the determination in his gaze.
“We admit defeat, we admit defeat!” Nan Xia Country’s envoy shouted. Baili Han was already in such a state. If they continued the match, it would still be okay if they lost, but Baili Han was a pillar of Nan Xia Country’s future. How could anything be allowed to happen to him here?
