“Are there any problems at home then?” Ling Chuxi asked.
“Some people from Wu Feng Hall tried to attack our Ling family, but they were beaten up and sent away by Elder Su. The Ling family was saved thanks to them,” the second elder said gratefully.
“I’m very grateful for your assistance, Old Su,” Ling Chuxi said sincerely to Su Yizhi.
“Chuxi, there’s no need for thanks between us,” Su Yizhi said dismissively, an affectionate smile on his face.
“Old Su, when the matter with Nan Xia Country is settled, I will do my best to fulfil the promise I made back then,” Ling Chuxi said seriously, referring to the revival of the Golden Pill Sect. She didn’t want Second Elder and the rest to worry, so she couldn’t say it out loud.
“Ah, there’s no rush for that,” Su Yizhi said reassuringly.
“Also, Chuxi, when you returned to Nan Xia Country this time, did you meet anyone from Wu Feng Hall?” Su Yizhi asked Ling Chuxi curiously.
“When I arrived at Gu Yang City, I met Ren Youran. That fellow self-exploded his Battle Qi and seemed to want to fight to the death—even I was shocked! In the end, he fled before even attacking,” Ling Chuxi scoffed, both angered and amused.
