Chapter 161: A Supposedly Family Dinner
Shen Fanxing frowned and went silent for a few seconds before walking in.
“Fanxing is here…”
That voice sounded a little awkward.

Cai Jingyi hurried to ease the tension. After all, she didn’t dislike Shen Fanxing and besides, it was their family who had let her down.

Shen Fanxing poured herself a cup of water and took a sip. Just as she placed the cup on the table, soft laughter sounded from the door.

Shen Fanxing tightened her grip on the cup. Her back was facing the door and she didn’t turn around. Her figure was concealed by the tall chair.
Shen Shanghua’s laughter got closer, and her heart turned cold.
She told herself that she shouldn’t feel this way. Shen Qianrou was also his granddaughter, and there was nothing wrong with him treating her equally.
But if her grandfather were the one who had invited her to the gathering, did he pause to think about how ridiculous she would be?
Su Heng pushed Shen Shanghua, who was sitting in the wheelchair, while Shen Qianrou held Su Heng’s arm. They walked in chatting happily.
“Uncle, Auntie, you’re all here? Sorry, Su Heng and I went home to pick Grandpa.”
Shen Qianrou must have noticed Su Heng’s parents the moment she entered, so she explained shyly why she was late.
Cai Jingyi smiled at her and said, “It’s fine. That’s what the two of you should do.”
Shen Defan grinned brightly and added, “Look, nothing has been confirmed yet. But she didn’t even notice her biological parents anymore!”
“Dad, what are you saying?”
Shen Qianrou stomped her feet and pouted at Shen Defan with a red face.
Cai Jingyi smiled and teased, “Yes indeed. A married daughter is like water being poured away. Qianrou will be the water in the Su family from now on. Of course, she’ll have to coax me. She has good foresight!”
“Haha! She isn’t water. She’s the beloved daughter of the Shen family…”
