"What is the name of your son and where I can find him?" Emmelyn finally asked Lyla.
The brothel owner's eyes widened. She didn't expect Emmelyn to ask the question. What did she mean by that? Did she WANT to go to Atlantea and meet with Lysander?
"Uhm.. my son's name is Lysander. He lives in Summerian capital now and is hoping to serve the king," Lyla quickly replied. "Are you... by any chance, plan to go to Summeria?"
"Maybe," said Emmelyn curtly. "I will think about it."
"Oh, please do..." Lyla's face was beaming with happiness. Even if Emmelyn only said she would think about it, Lyla thought there was hope in her words. Emmelyn didn't immediately reject her proposal.
So... there was a chance that Emmelyn would say yes tomorrow.
Well, a mother could dream, couldn't she?
Mrs. Adler couldn't guess what was on Emmelyn's mind. She was so adamant about leaving just now, but suddenly she said she would think about it?
Was it because of something that Lyla said?
Did Emmelyn actually know the king of Summeria? This was so shocking.
"Can I get room to sleep? I will need a good rest before I can make a decision," Emmelyn said. "My friend here can stay with me in the same room."
"Yes, yes.. definitely," said Lyla. She took Emmelyn's hand and led her through the hallway and entered a spacious room on the second floor. "This is your room. Anna already prepared water in the basin for you to wash up. You can ask her or any girls around here if you need anything."
Emmelyn entered the really spacious bedroom and admired the interior. This must be a VVIP room for special clients when they wanted to have fun with one of the top ladies in this brothel.
"Thank you, Lyla," Emmelyn nodded in satisfaction. She was happy to get a decent place to rest for the night. "Do you think you can give us a jug of wine? The night is quite cold."
"Yes, definitely." Lyla was determined to spoil Emmelyn so the girl would really change her mind and go to Summeria. She turned around and found Lucia who was standing at the end of the hallway. "Lucia, bring a jug of wine and two cups here, please."
"Right away, Madame," Lucia replied respectfully.
She went down to the ground floor and returned not long after with a jug of wine and two cups as requested. She brought them inside Emmelyn's bedroom and put them on the small table next to the bed.
"Thank you. You can sleep next door for the night," said Lyla. "If my guests here need help, they will call you."
"Understood, Madame." Lucia took her leave and did as she was told.
"Is there anything else I can do for you, Your Grace?" Lyla turned to Emmelyn and asked her attentively. She had changed her way of addressing Emmelyn since she had confirmed that the woman in front of her was a real princess from Wintermere.
This sounded weird in Emmelyn's ears because she had never had that type of relationship with Lyla, as a princess and a commoner. However, she didn't say anything to correct the older woman.
The brothel owner could call her whatever, Emmelyn wouldn't really care. Her status was the last thing she worried about.
"No. I am good. Thank you."
"Very well. Hope you have a good rest. I'll see you tomorrow," said Lyla. She turned around and left Emmelyn and Mrs. Adler alone.
After the door was closed. Emmelyn and Mrs. Adler looked at each other.
"Your Highness... what are you planning to do?" Mrs. Adler asked Emmelyn with a worried tone. "Can you trust her? She is a brothel owner and is close to the underworld."
"I can trust her," Emmelyn replied. "I am just wondering about the king who is looking for me. This whole thing is very strange."
"Do you think someone impersonated you and met the king, so now the king is looking for her?" Mrs. Adler was curious too. She agreed that the case was very strange.
The old witch looked at the beautiful woman before her who was now wearing men's clothes and looked emaciated after suffering for a long time. Even in her current condition, she still looked attractive.
Emmelyn was actually a very beautiful woman. She also had a lively and interesting personality. So, it was not surprising that men fell for her left and right.
"That's what I have been suspecting," said Emmelyn. "Whoever she is, she must know me well enough to claim she was me and deceive the king. Now, I am thinking about how I can take advantage of this situation."
"What do you mean?" Mrs. Adler asked.
"You know I am avoiding being captured by the king of Draec, right? And I am on my way to Myreen, to find the monarch family of that kingdom so they would lift their curse from me. Don't you think it would be useful for me to have another king as my ally?" Emmelyn looked at the old witch intently. "This will be my backup plan."
She looked very serious and determined as she elaborated her plans. "I am thinking of going to Summeria and meet the king with Lysander, Lyla's son. I know I am not the woman he was looking for, but those people didn't know this fact."
Emmelyn added, "Once I meet him, I will ask his help to get me to Myreen and lift my curse. In exchange, I will help him find the real woman. I am sure that woman is related to me somehow since she could claim to be me and she knew so many things about me."
The old witch thought Emmelyn was really smart.
"That sounds like a really good idea," said Mrs. Adler. "I think that can work."
"Yeah. Let's hope it will work and they don't find the real woman before I get there. I think, with my situation, it will be difficult for me to find Myreen on my own. Atlantea is a huge continent and I have no one there."
"Don't forget that you can also find my witch sisters," said Mrs. Adler. "I will try to find more info about my sisters so you can look for them if your plan failed."
