Mars couldn't believe his ear when he heard Emmelyn clearly tell him he was welcomed in her bed. He looked at the big fluffy bed and realized it was more than enough to accommodate the three of them. He, Emmelyn, and Harlow.
Also, if he pushed Harlow a little bit closer to the wall, and put a big pillow between her and Emmelyn, he and his wife would still have ample space for the two of them.
Ahem... ample space for what exactly?
The man cleared his throat and cleared his mind from dirty thoughts at the same time.
Mars was too ecstatic at the opportunity to sleep on the same bed again with Emmelyn. He was actually ready to take the couch for the night, and for the foreseeable near future until they rebuild their relationship again and, of course, until Emmelyn's physique recovered 100%.
The man was so excited and felt moved that he couldn't utter a response, but his body was quick to move and strip himself. He'd prefer to sleep with just his underpants.
He was never bothered by cold temperature anyway. So, unlike Emmelyn, he didn't need to change into another outfit. He just slept like this, half-naked.
What usually troubled him was his terrible insomnia. However, tonight, it wouldn't be a problem because the cure to his sleeping issues was here.
Mars didn't need to take a sleeping potion whenever he slept with Emmelyn. So, he would just lie down next to her and hopefully hug her to sleep.
This would be a beautiful night. He couldn't wait!!
Emmelyn's cheeks flushed red when she saw how quickly Mars had stripped to only his underpants and now he was getting ready to climb up the bed. She could see his well-built body, his chiseled chest, his toned arms... they all looked so masculine and drool-worthy.
Emmelyn sat up in bed, leaned on the headboard, and cleared her throat, trying to remove some unholy thoughts from her mind.
"You have to move Harlow a little closer to the wall," she said to Mars, pointing at Harlow who was sleeping soundly with her mouth opened wide and her tiny fists balled.
"Yes, I will," Mars replied with a hoarse voice. He climbed the bed and scooted over to lift their baby and moved her to the end of the bed, facing the wall. He put a nice fluffy pillow as a bumper and then add another one behind Harlow.
Now, she was surrounded by two pillows like a fort. The space between Emmelyn and Harlow was still quite spacious. Mars turned to Emmelyn. "Do you want to move closer to Harlow? Let me sleep on the edge so I can protect you from falling."
Emmelyn hiccuped when she heard his words. It was extremely cheesy, she thought.
Did Mars just treat her like a baby? He decided to take the outer side of the bed because he was worried Emmelyn would fall from the bed?
Ha ha ha...
Oh, wait.
Suddenly, something struck her mind.
Ahh... that must be a habit Mars developed after Harlow was born.
Did he often sleep with their baby in the same bed? Was that the reason why he was so attentive and automatically assumed the outer side to protect their baby from falling from the bed?
This realization made Emmelyn's heart feel so touched. She always regretted the fact that she couldn't spend time with Harlow after she was born until she was now eleven months old.
She had missed so many important milestones, and most importantly, she was not there to take care of Harlow's needs. Emmelyn could imagine their baby must be a handful.
When Harlow was a newborn, she needed to be fed every two hours. She also slept a lot. She was vulnerable to so many illnesses and risks, not to mention she was also born early, so she was weaker than full-term babies.
Even if Mars just managed to keep Harlow alive, it would be considered an accomplishment, but Harlow was actually thriving and so adorable? That was one hell of a job he did there!
Emmelyn looked at the man with newfound appreciation and admiration.
The love she had for him and all the reasons she fell in love with him in the first place, now came up to the surface. She even realized her love for him had become deeper and stronger.
Emmelyn smiled.
Mars was dumbfounded when he saw her smile so sweetly. Did he say something funny?
He palmed his face. Of course. Emmelyn must be laughing at his choice of words just now. He offered to sleep on the outer side of the bed so she wouldn't fall? She was not a kid. He must sound so silly to her.
"Ahem..." The man rubbed his long hair and tried to find the right words to do damage control. "What I meant was...."
Gosh.. his image must be ruined now. He sounded so cheesy.
"Can you come down from the bed?" Emmelyn asked Mars with her melodious voice. "I will move to the middle of the bed so you can sleep here, on the edge."
"Oh... yes, of course," Mars obeyed her words and climbed down from the bed.
He watched Emmelyn move closer to Harlow but she stopped before she touched the pillow that separated her side from Harlow's. Then, Emmelyn patted the side next to her, the outer side of the bed, and motioned Mars to lie down.
Mars smiled too. He was happy to see Emmelyn didn't seem to look down on him just because he slipped just now. She even looked happy. Her eyes were gleaming and her lips smiling.
Mars finally got on the bed and lie down next to his wife.
As soon as his body touched the mattress and he adjusted his position, Emmelyn rolled toward him and rested her head on his chest. Then, she wrapped her arms around his waist.
Their skin touched and it immediately sent fire throughout his body. Gosh! He missed hugging her like this.
Mars missed her pleasant scent, her breath on his skin, the movement of her chest as she breathed in and breathed out while being in his embrace.
He could smell her distinct scent from the top of her head when she rested her head on his chest like this. It was so intoxicating, Mars couldn't help but inhale her scent to satisfy his longing and craving for her.
Slowly, his hands snaked around her body and hugged her tightly.
Emmelyn smiled sheepishly when she realized her husband's breath started panting. She bit her lip, then she looked up to see his face.
Mars was looking down at her and their eyes locked. Their gazes were filled with affection and longing. Emmelyn raised on hand and touched his cheek.
Ahh... her husband was such a dream husband. Always has, always will.
She tilted her head and landed a kiss on his lips.

I am so happy we really resolve the conflicts in October. Soon, Emmelyn and Mars would go home and start rebuilding their lives together.
Ellena would be punished, Gewen and Kira will get to know each other better, and of course, Mars and Emmelyn would have their next child(ren). Would it be a really fat baby or twins? LOL
