1042 Chapter 1042 “Traumatized“
The guard’s announcement made everyone attention went to the poison expert. The one coming was an old man wearing simple grey clothes. He had his white hair tied up in a ponytail. On his right hand, there was a brown old box while his left hand brought nothing.
The old man had a kind, gentle face. He looked like general people who worked in the medical field.
"That is old Zhu, the famous poison expert that saves the empress life years ago?" One of the younger generation with quite a knowledge immediately recognised the old man. He turned out to be the same person involved in the previous poisoning case!
He could be seen as the empress’ life saviour so everyone believed him. The man himself was famous to be upright and honest. There’s no way he could be bribed to lie or trick someone with his words.
"Your majesty, " Old Zhu hurriedly bowed to the emperor but didn’t really kneel on the floor. He was in a rush. Everyone could see that. His clothes were all wrinkled. His hair was in disarray. Sweats filled his old, spotted face. The old man was catching his breath as he spoke showing how he really came as soon as he could.
"Old Zhu, please, this way. Check this tea for me" The emperor helped the old man to raise his body again. The man then guided him to the empress’ seat. The empress was still there ’guarding’ the tea suspected to have poison inside. No one dared to touch the cup in case they became suspected as the culprit instead.
"Yes, your majesty" Old Zhu immediately bowed his head for the second time before he approached the table. The man greets the empress and asked her to move aside for a bit. That way he could check the tea easier.
"Old Zhu please tell us the truth, okay?" The empress looked at Old Zhu’s serious face as he checked the tea using various tools and method. She was just afraid that this man didn’t dare to say that there was indeed a poison inside the tea.
"Rest assured your majesty. This lowly one will always speak the truth" Old Zhu nodded before he went back to check the tea. While the old man was doing his investigation, Yan Fenghuang, on the other hand, was calmly played with her hair.
She knew from the beginning that the emperor would call for this old man but that was all in her plan. This old man would announce that there was indeed a poison inside the tea not to mention the poison was the same one used years ago which almost killed the empress.
Once Old Zhu announced the result, everyone wouldn’t accuse Li Shi Ying of lying anymore and that would save he reputation for the time being but...once again the guests would then have another doubt. They would questioned how Li Shi Ying knew the tea had poison.
Some might believe in that girl’s word saying that the butterfly divine beast could really detect poison which was out of her plan but others wouldn’t believe it so easily. After all, these mighty dragons couldn’t sense the poison so how could a lowly divine beast manage to do that?
Acknowledging this was the same as insulting the dragon’s ability which most older generation won’t do. Only the younger generation might believe Li Shi Ying due to their open-minded nature but the oldies were the one who really holds power in the kingdom.
This...would be the critical point to finished Li Shi Ying off! Not only that, once she mentioned how Li Shi Ying’s parents have something to do with the poison....many guests would believe her more than this b*tch.

"Your majesty, with all respect I state that there is indeed a lethal poison inside the tea. This is the same poison used years ago.. " Old Zhu suddenly spoke in a quite loud voice after he finished inspecting.
The old man’s face gradually turned pale somehow getting traumatized by that year’s incident. If not for his ancestor having a connection with the creator of the poison thus allowing him to get the antidote recipe in less than a few hours...
The empress would have died back then.
"What?? So it is true!" Hearing Old Zhu’s statement, the empress trembled. Her eyes widened in shock. She immediately stood up from her seat with a face as pale as a white paper. The woman took a few steps back from the cup before she ran to the emperor’s embrace.
The empress’ shoulders were trembling. Tears began to fell from her beautiful eyes making both the emperor and Long Ao Zhen got worried.
"Honey, it’s okay, you are alright. No one can harm you" The emperor hugged the empress and patted her back. The man’s voice was very gentle as he tried to coax his wife. He didn’t want his beloved to be traumatized like this.
Yan Fenghuang! Ungrateful little b*tch. Just see if he found any evidence...he would immediately exile her from the kingdom!
"Mother..." Long Ao Zhen murmured to himself as he looked at his other from afar. The man took Li Shi Ying’s hand and squeezed it a bit hard. He wanted to go console his mother but he couldn’t leave Li Shi Ying.
His girl was also in a dire situation!
