1271 Chapter 8 Mao Mao love story
"Y-yes?" Fen Wén tilted her head in confusion. She didn’t understand why Mao Mao suddenly asked whether she was cold or not. Like...out of the blue??
Mao Mao slowed down his speed as he turned around to look at the girl. With a sweet smile on his face illuminated by the candle’s light, he spoke, "I wonder if you feel cold..." the young man’s voice was a bit faint sounding like a whisper.

Fen Wén just felt very nervous at the moment. No one ever treated her so gently like Mao Mao did, asking her whether she felt cold or not. Somehow it touched her heart. Something felt warm and fuzzy inside even though it was indeed a bit chilly outside.

The girl hadn’t finished her words when another maidservant in turquoise clothes chipped in, "But as a secret lover!" The girl slammed the table excitedly as she sat down, wanting to join the juicy gossip.
Her loud statement made the surrounding maidservants perked their ears trying to get any valuable gossip for their boring day.
Hearing what the other girl said, Fen Wén’s face instantly turned red. Steams raised from her head. Stuttering, she tried to deny, "N-no! It’s not like what you guys think ah!"
She gripped the teacup tightly trying to hide her nervousness but her fellow maidservants noticed her shyness. With a sly smile on their face, the girl with pink dress pressed Fen Wén, "Hey hey you look so shy, tell me, do you like our young prime minister?"
She didn’t stop at that. The maidservant clasped her hand together and sighed, "If I were you, I would fall for our prime minister, " she looked at Fen Wén with sparkling eyes and continued, "After all, he’s so handsome and accomplished at the same time!"
The girl’s words were followed by the other girls’ nod. All of them bashfully praised Mao Mao, "Right, right! I saw him once and he is so cool!"
Another girl chipped in, "He’s so handsome and you know what, I saw him when he’s having a meeting with the officials...and he is so capable!" The girl with freckles on her face squealed in joy.
Not only these three girls but even the rest of the maidservants there also started to sing praises for Mao Mao.
"Hey, hey, not only that, but he’s also super kind! He once helped me carry books when he passes by, " a girl with her hair tied up smiled bashfully as she recalled the kindness Mao Mao shown her.
