1286 Chapter 23 Mao Mao Love Story
The maidservants all looked at each other with confusion in their eyes. Did they hear it wrong? The prime minister came here to look for Fen Wén?
The girls knew who Fen Wén was as she’s the empress dowager personal maidservant and now was assigned for the young prime minister in front of them but one thing they were confused about.

’He is just a new prime minister! So arrogant!’ The girl cursed in her heart even though she smiled outside and immediately led Mao Mao to Fen Wén’s room.
Along the way, the girl tried to converse with Mao Mao but the young man somehow ignored her since his mind was occupied with Fen Wén’s situation.
Seeing that the prominent husband candidate didn’t respond, the girl eventually became tired. She stopped talking and just quietly led Mao Mao until they arrived in front of Fen Wén’s room.
Once they arrived, Mao Mao waved his hand and said, "You can go." he didn’t even look at the girl as he commanded so.
The girl bit her lips in grievance yet she had to obey. Bowing her head silently, the girl hurriedly left the place not wanting to embarrass herself further.
Once Mao Mao was sure that the previous girl had left, he sighed in relief, "...hufff..." Mao Mao patted his chest feeling glad that he was finally alone now.
To come to the girl’s dorm like this wasn’t easy for him as he wasn’t used to be around young girls not to mention the girl who led him just now was extremely stinky with a perfume smell.
He never realized that girls would use a lot of powders and perfume that was really uncomfortable for him.
Fen Wén never used makeup when worked nor used perfume maybe that’s why he was so shaken today.

Thinking like this, Mao Mao stared at the closed wooden door in front of him and suddenly, his heart started to beat fast.
Fen Wén should live alone as she’s a noble so if he went in now...won’t that mean he would be alone with her? Wait, wasn’t it kinda weird for him to visit the girl’s dorm in the first place??
A lot of thoughts swirled inside Mao Mao’s mind. Because of this, his hand which was about to touch the door handle paused abruptly.
The young man eyelashes trembled. He looked hesitant to open the door.
’What will be her reaction seeing me in her room?’ Mao Mao gulped thinking like this.
Should he visit her or not? But he wanted to know whether she was truly unwell or not...
The young man sighed again and after contemplating the odds, he finally decided to just barge in and deal with the consequence later.
Taking a deep breath, the young man knocked on the door first as to be polite. He knocked several times waiting for any sign of response inside but after 5 minutes passed not getting any response, the young man became a bit agitated.
’Maybe she’s sleeping?’ Mao Mao silently thought. The night was still early, only 9 p.m but if Fen Wén was really tired its possible for her to sleep early.
"Ughh let’s just go inside, " Mao Mao spoke to himself as he slowly tried to slides open the door. He did it rather cautiously afraid that he would wake the girl up if she was sleeping.
Of course, there would be a chance that the girl was purposely ignoring him.
GGRKKK.
The sound of the door sliding open echoed throughout the corridor, shocking the young man.
"It’s not locked?" Mao Mao was astonished. He thought that the door would be locked from inside using a long stick to block it but he could open the door easily.
What a surprise! The security is rather lacking, isn’t it? Won’t it be dangerous for a young girl to not lock her room?
Mao Mao silently planned in his heart to educate Fen Wén about her own safety as he stepped inside the room. The young man was worried about the girl’s well being yet at the same time he’s the one sneaking in.
