439 Chapter 439 “Translator Battle“
"That girl is so brave to accept senior Zhans challenge. Didn’t she see how he battled with his translator powers earlier? Even though she is also a translator but I doubt she could win against a prodigy like him."
One of the students who liked to analyze a battle shook his head and felt sorry for Li Shi Ying even when the battle hadn’t started yet. It was obvious Zhan Jiouli was well-known to be strong. Who was that girl anyway? A nobody.
She was just discovered for being a 2nd type of translator which was a good thing when she was that young but Zhan Jiouli had more experience than the girl didnt he?
"That girl is bound to lose, she is just going to fight an uphill battle." The other students all had the same thought. They weren’t here to see Li Shi Ying in the act, they were mostly here to see how Zhan Jiouli would use his power.
It was rare for Zhan Jiouli to show off his translator ability.
"So the battle will not end until one of us admit defeat or are heavily injured, how is it?" Zhan Jiouli got onto the stage with Li Shi Ying in tow. He then started by explaining the rules of their bout.
"...okay and?" Li Shi Ying got a feeling that Zhan Jiouli wouldn’t want her to be heavily injured so he might seek a way to make her admit defeat instead.
Well, it was true Zhan Jiouli didn’t plan to injure Li Shi Ying whom he considered as their future ally. He only wanted her to admit defeat in front of his power. He would show her how naive she was now.
"No other rules aside from that and the one we are talking about before," Zhan Jiouli shrugged his shoulder as he prepared his talisman. As a translator with powers like this, of course, he was well prepared.
Just like Li Shi Ying. She was also checking her talismans since it was impossible to make one in a battle so this battle would be decided with how many talismans they got.
Also...how powerful each of those talismans was.
"Ready?" Zhan Jiouli had called a referee for their battle which was one of the free teachers around the arena who gladly came when he knew their academy got one more translator.
"Any time," Li Shi Ying had checked her stock of talismans and was ready to battle this guy. She knew this guy had a fast movement but she would rely on her variety of talismans.
"Okay, both sides can begin in 3..2..1...begin." The teacher who acted as the referee shouted a countdown before he went away from the stage so as to not disturb the battle.
The moment after the teacher finished the countdown, Zhan Jiouli with his fast movement speed already took out his talisman and activated it in less than a second.
This was quite bad for Li Shi Ying who had just taken out her talisman but the girl herself was calm. She knew what talisman Zhan Jiouli had activated just now so she already activated a counter for that.

Just like what Li Shi Ying had predicted, Zhan Jiouli activated a ’speed’ talisman and immediately ran toward her to end the battle quick. He could just activate another talisman to attack her in this distance so it would be instant K.O.
A smug smirk appeared on Zhan Jioulis mouth when he saw Li Shi Ying had just activated her talisman. Well since the light was blinding he couldn’t see what the talisman was but he was confident.
Whatever talisman she used, even if it was a ’speed’ talisman she wouldn’t be able to get away from his second attack.
"Earth cage," Zhan Jiouli waved his second talisman which turned out to be an ’earth Cage’ talisman just like ’earth thorn’ talisman that Li Shi Ying had but this one was used to trap someone.

The moment the cage appeared under Li Shi Yings feet, Li Shi Yings talisman had already activated and the one she used was a ’flying’ talisman.
So when the cage was just about to trap her inside, Li Shi Ying jumped to the sky and flew away dodging the cage as she activated her second talisman while floating on the sky.
"Ukh flying talisman," Zhan Jiouli saw his trap fail and couldn’t help but curse his bad luck. Who would have thought that Li Shi Ying would use a ’flying’ talisman instead of a ’speed’ talisman?
In the first place, ’flying’ talismans weren’t common for 2nd type translators as there was this vocabulary limit. For a 2nd type of translator, the more vocabulary of Gods language they knew, the more power they would get.
’Flying’ was not a rare vocabulary at all but most translators didn’t find that word in any scroll since cultivators didn’t need a technique to fly. They would be able to do so at a certain cultivation stage.
Now that Li Shi Ying used a ’flying’ talisman which Zhan Jiouli didn’t have making him startled and shocked beyond imagination.
"This girl has a vast knowledge of Gods language vocabulary." Zhan Jiouli gritted his teeth as he prepared his third talisman. He couldn’t get close to Li Shi Ying when she was flying so he could only wait until the talisman effect wore out.
