Chapter 115: Transfer to Headquarters
Long after Su Wan spoke, Jiang Xuecheng’s lips remained pursed and not a word was said.
In the narrow car, the air was silently dull. Jiang Xuecheng’s handsome face was cold and gloomy.
“Are you really angry?”
When she saw Jiang Xuecheng keeping silent, Su Wan asked once again without giving up.
Jiang Xuecheng darted Su Wan a faint glance. She looked down in an ingratiating manner, as if afraid that he would be angry.
Jiang Xuecheng shook his head and replied in his deep voice, “No.”
As he spoke, he started the car engine and the black car zoomed forward.
The car drove fast and with the yellow light of the street lamps, Su Wan peeped and examined the man beside her. Jiang Xuecheng was not angry but he was obviously unhappy.
“Is it because of Gu Zihang?” Su Wan’s head was down and she murmured, “I don’t like him anymore…”
Jiang Xuecheng’s hand which was holding the steering wheel paused. His brows knitted slightly and agitation arose in his heart.
Of course, he knew Su Wan did not like Gu Zihang anymore but he could sense Su Wan’s emotions while meeting the couple. She obviously still had a knot in her heart.
He did not like Su Wan’s emotions to be disturbed by these people. It looked like he had to completely solve this problem during Gu Zihang and Su Yurou’s engagement party.
“Xuecheng?”
Su Wan called his name out carefully.
Jiang Xuecheng looked her in the eyes and his cold and magnetic voice sounded. “Take some time to fine tune Beitong’s project these few days. Don’t make careless mistakes. I’ll commend you personally during Beitong’s celebration and transfer you to the headquarters.
His voice was as elegant as usual and his tone brought out a faint order which allowed no rejection.
Su Wan was silent for a moment and then blinked her eyes as she looked at Jiang Xuecheng. Her voice had a sense of pleading.
“Could I go to Di Chen headquarters earlier and could you transfer me to the planning department of Di Chen please? It matches my specialized field.”
She was actually afraid she would be denounced.
She estimated that Beitong’s celebration would come after the engagement party of Gu Zihang and Su Yurou. By then, everyone would know her relationship with Jiang Xuecheng. She did not want to become his special assistant at such a vulnerable moment.
Moreover, Su Wan did not have too much understanding on Jiang Xuecheng’s work and was not confident being his special assistant. Comparatively, she was more adept at planning.
When Jiang Xuecheng heard what she said, a sense of dismay leapt into his brows. “I can bring forward your transfer but isn’t it better to be my special assistant rather than going to the planning department?”
The position of Di Chen’s CEO’s special assistant was one many would dream of having. How could Su Wan decline?
Su Wan was tongue tied and she said awkwardly, “I’m afraid people would gossip…”
Jiang Xuecheng darted her a side glance and sneered softly. “What are you still afraid of when you have me protecting you? Moreover, they wouldn’t dare to!”
Su Wan felt she had lost to Jiang Xuecheng. He was born noble and coupled with his cold personality, he had no fear of incurring gossip, but she was different…
Su Wan merely replied “Mm” and fell into a silence. She put her head on the leather seat and an indistinct disappointment emitted from her eyes.

Both of them confronted each other silently, with neither backing down. Jiang Xuecheng stared at her for a while and then stepped hard on his accelerator. The black Koenigsegg Agera R zoomed toward Fontainebleau speedily like an arrow leaving its bow.
Jiang Xuecheng opened the front passenger door and with a calm face, invited Su Wan to get out of the car.
Su Wan who was thinking of ways to convince Jiang Xuecheng heard his voice and regained her senses.
She got out of the car and with a smile, grabbed Jiang Xuecheng’s hand.
Jiang Xuecheng had never seen Su Wan being so passionate and he knew what Su Wan was thinking.
Jiang Xuecheng stared at Su Wan for a while and his voice was slightly cold as he said, “Wan Wan, you don’t have to fawn over me. Being my special assistant is non-negotiable.”
When her mind was read by Jiang Xuecheng, Su Wan was at a loss but her smile was sweeter, “But if I were to go the Di Chen’s planning department, we’d still be working in the same company.”
Jiang Xuecheng ignored Su Wan’s attempt to convince him. He calmly raised his brows and what he said hit her soft spot.
“Wan Wan, if you continue acting like this, I won’t let you attend the engagement party.”
Su Wan pouted and obediently linked her arm with his. At last, she stopped casting an enticing spell on him.
When Jiang Xuecheng saw Su Wan losing her wits, he frowned and seized her hand tightly.
Every time he saw Su Wan feeling lost or depressed, he couldn’t bear declining any of her requests.
Jiang Xuecheng struggled for a moment and finally said, “I’ll transfer you from Long Teng International to the headquarters in a few days. You take care. If you don’t perform in the planning department, don’t blame me…”
What did he mean? Had he agreed?
Su Wan raised her head in surprise and couldn’t help placing a kiss on his chin. “Thank you!”
“Are you this happy that you don’t have to work beside me?”
Looking at the tall and handsome man with a grim face beside her, Su Wan shook her head smilingly.
“Of course not! I just think planning suits me more than being a special assistant!”
Jiang Xuecheng sighed helplessly and thought Su Wan’s heartlessness made him feel miserable.
He closed the door and stood still in front of Su Wan. Both of them were near one another and he could smell Su Wan’s faint scent.
Then, Su Wan was caught off guard and was brought into Jiang Xuecheng’s embrace. Compared to the tall man, she was petite and was covered by his shadow.
Jiang Xuecheng did not say a single word. He merely lowered his head and fixed his eyes on her.
Su Wan was stunned for an instant and carefully examined the man in front of her. This man was undoubtedly good-looking. His facial features were exquisite and he had received more favor from the creator of men compared to her.
They locked gazes.
Su Wan’s cheeks felt bafflingly warm and she wrapped her hands around his neck while she murmured, “Xuecheng, I like you.”
I like that you like me the way I am.
She was a girl who lacked a sense of security and Jiang Xuecheng was precisely a man who could give her a sense of security.
Jiang Xuecheng’s heart tightened and he covered Su Wan’s lips with his.
The moonlight shone through the glass windows of the mansion, onto the man and the woman. They snuggled up to one another and they reconciled.

After several days, Su Wan was transferred to the Di Chen Group headquarters as the deputy director of Di Chen’s planning department.
Su Wan’s colleagues in Long Teng International envied her promotion but Ji Qing was not among them as she had been sacked for stealing the draft.
After Su Wan was transferred to the headquarters, she felt the working environment was much better than that at Long Teng’s, perhaps because Jiang Xuecheng had said or done something earlier.
As time passed, Su Yurou and Gu Zihang’s engagement party had finally arrived.
