Qi Lei went silent for a moment before nodding. “Alright, see you tomorrow.”
“See you tomorrow.” Xi Xiaye then hung up.
“Is this about the materials?” Mu Yuchen’s voice reached her the moment she put her phone away.
Xi Xiaye saved her file and switched off the laptop as she replied, “Mmm, Gu Lingsha came to look for me before, so I knew she was going to make Qi Lei come and ask for them from me, as expected.”
She got up and slowly walked towards him. Mu Yuchen raised his eyebrows and just looked at her before he moved over slightly and made space for her.
Xi Xiaye sat down beside him and grabbed the glass of water to drink some. He said, “That’s a pretty big deal. Nevertheless, be bold about this. Grandpa and Hua Heng made them pay a huge price the last time. You could use the same trick again. I realize you’ve been enlightened, taking your sweet revenge now, hmm?”
She grinned and put the glass of water away. “Aren’t you worried that I might become a wicked woman?”
“A wicked woman with a despicable man—the best match ever.”
Xi Xiaye was satisfied with his straightforward answer. “People don’t usually diss themselves, do they? I’m just trying to pay back for what she did to me. By the way, is there any progress with Lingshi’s matter? I heard from Li Si that you wanted to see Gu Qiwu and even asked him to prepare a new DNA report. Are you about to tell Grandfather and Grandmother?”
Mu Yuchen took a pause and looked down. “Mmm, I’m ready to tell them. I’ll decide how I should face Gu Qiwu after the meeting this time around. Mu Yuchen chuckled. “That’s not bad. We share the same thoughts.”
Xi Xiaye smiled as she grabbed his hand. “There’s no need to worry too much. We’ll find a way in the end.”
He put his other hand onto hers in response. “You just reminded me that I should probably prepare them a huge gift for their wedding!”
“That’s what comes after, and I’ll leave that to you. Meanwhile, I’ll do my best to gather more information.” Xi Xiaye closed the file in front of him. “It’s getting late now. Let’s go to bed.”

Qi Lei arrived on time. Xi Xiaye was discussing the amendments of a budget proposal with Lan Zilang, but he quickly halted the conversation and left the room when he saw that Qi Lei had arrived.
“Have a seat. I’ve been expecting you.” Xi Xiaye got up and pointed at the sofa opposite her while her assistant, Xiao Mei, prepared two cups of tea for them.
Qi Lei made himself comfortable on the sofa and took a sip of the tea. “Are you drinking Mao Jian tea now? I remember Mu Yuchen insisted on you drinking Pu Er tea only since he said it’s good for your stomach.”
“I like this tea recently. Anyway, you seem like you’re in a rush. Is everything done over there?” Xi Xiaye took a sip from her cup of tea as she asked him.
Qi Lei nodded as he put on a gentle smile. “It’s almost there. We’ll be able to start filming after some time. Don’t worry because the other stages of progress won’t be affected.”

Qi Lei glanced at Xi Xiaye before taking the folder from her.
