Chapter 229: The Count Rampaging throughout the Huaxian World of Cultivators
“The Vampiric Empire made a move, eh?” Lu Xuan frowned as soon as he got the news.
He was familiar with the Vampiric Empire, as it had been a monster of an organization that was notorious throughout the world at later stages.
He was also familiar with the Count, although he assumed that the Count as he was now was probably not as powerful as he knew the Count to be back in his past life.
According to what Lu Xuan knew back in his past life, the Vampiric Empire did indeed clash with the WuTang Clan multiple times over.
But then again, it was not a one-sided beating. The WuTang Clan’s formidable heritage was being made use of to the fullest as spirit qi was restored to the world.
As spirit qi of the world was further restored later, there had even been several extremely powerful people of Celestial Realm emerging from their ranks.
The Huaxian world of cultivators was able to handle itself well, even when taking on the Vampiric Empire, whose roots ran even deeper.
Things were different at present, as the WuTang Clan was almost wiped out of existence. All of the clan’s disciples of lower levels of training were all killed by the Count, dealing a crushing blow to the clan.
While it looked like the clash was due to an age-old feud between both parties being brought to the fore, it actually had a lot to do with Lu Xuan.
The clash was a direct result of him killing Adam from the Association of Lore Seekers, which then alerted the vampires that backed the association.
It was due precisely to this that the Count emerged out of his healing sleep prematurely and went to cause trouble in Huaxia.
The Association of Lore Seekers was directly affiliated with the Vampiric Empire. Almost all of the higher-ups of the association were single-handedly taken care of by Lu Xuan back on Penglai Island, and there was no way the Vampiric Empire would have just kept sitting on their hands after that.
But then again, the Count saw what he was doing to be an act of saving his underlings, and that was hardly worth mentioning.
Things felt different on the side of the WuTang Clan, however, as that battle was definitely one fought with their lives on the line.
The Count would have just let it slide for the time being if he were to just remain asleep. However, given how he had emerged, he simply saw it fit to get rid of the WuTang Clan, which had yet to be restored to their former level of power.
That was why the Count hit the WuTang Clan first.
Lu Xuan was able to tell that it could be said that both parties had faced a loss in their latest clash.
The clan had just been restored somewhat not long ago, and all of the future geniuses that the clan had painstakingly gathered perished in that one battle.
The Count had also lost over a dozen loyal, capable members of his inner circle, all of whom were Invincible Vajra Level fighters.
However, if one were to look at the sum of things, it became obvious that the losses the WuTang Clan incurred were greater. Those geniuses training under the Clan’s wing were not people that could be easily found everywhere, and locating them had taken quite an effort after all.
Those geniuses were people that the clan went out of their way to gather for the past several decades. Furthermore, they were lucky enough to exist at a time where spirit qi was being restored to the world, and the shackles of the planet were loosening, making it the best era for cultivation.
Due to what just happened, however, the WuTang Clan was, ultimately, greatly inferior when compared to Shaolin.
A generation gap was already formed.
Even if the Clan were to gather more geniuses at the moment, there was still no way for them to be able to catch up within a short period of time. In the case of the Count, losing those underlings was not that much of a big deal.
Replenishing the void left by those vampires was but a matter of time.
So long as he—one of the ancestors—of the vampires was able to get on with siring others, getting people of Invincible Vajra Level powers to fill the void would not have been a problem.
That ability to amass a frightening army of vampires within a short period of time was precisely what made the Vampiric Empire so terrifying.
All in all, it was apt to say that the WuTang Clan was severely crippled due to Lu Xuan.

The invasion of the Vampiric Empire had caused quite a commotion.
The battle that the Huaxian cultivators fought against the Vampiric Empire nearly a century ago had been of a magnitude capable of shaking the earth, after all.

They also fielded the runic ammunition technology provided by Lu Xuan, which was developed from mere runic bullets to large caliber runic shells, and still failed to stop the Count in his tracks.
The Count was able to get out of the predicament.
None had succeeded in killing the Count.
However, the operation made both sides incredibly famous.
There was needless to say with the Count’s case, given how even a force of such caliber backed by the government still failed to stop him in his tracks. The Special Task Force had become renowned as well.
There had been many fighters from various clans and sects heading out, with some among them being Invincible Vajras, but all fell before the Count nonetheless.
All of them had their blood sucked dry.
While the Special Task Force had not been able to kill the Count, it was the only force capable of escaping from the Count unscathed.
While the Dragon had not been able to kill the Count as well, but he was nonetheless far more powerful than all the others who fought the Count.
That battle reaffirmed the fact that the Special Task Force was still the most powerful cultivation force found in the nation.
It was especially so when the likes of runic ammunition, runic cannons, and other products that combined both scientific technology and cultivation, were being used. This made many fighters think twice about taking on the Special Task Force on.
Just as many of the fighters prided themselves on being utterly immune to the Special Task Force’s bullets and even shells, the Special Task Force quickly responded by fielding something capable of taking those people out.
One could even imagine the likes of runic RPGs and even runic nuclear munitions probably being developed in the future.
There was one very glaring trait among all of those weapons—they were developed specifically to take on the cultivators.
The development of such weapons went from merely dealing an unreal amount of physical damage to dealing mystical damage.
All who pondered about taking the Special Task Force on were forced to submit.
That battle had even alerted the Huaxian authorities. There were even rumors about the Zhongnanhai planning on fielding nuclear weapons to take out the Count.
The only thing that prevented them from doing so was how they continued to fail in tracking the Count, as he was moving too quickly.
As the Count continued to go on a rampage, many quickly realized something.
All beneath the Celestial Realm were less than bugs.
Many Invincible Vajra Level fighters were shocked to the core. They had not been able to do much or be proud of their achievements when a being at the Celestial Realm made his appearance.
All of them might have as well been made out of paper when facing off against someone of the Celestial Realm, for they were deemed to be little more than bugs that one could easily squish to death.
But then again, everyone quickly realized the Count’s goal of that trip; he was heading for Yunxuan Villa and targeting Lu Xuan.
The secret back in Penglai Island was out before long. Many came to know that the Huaxian fighter who killed Adam and Saint Peter was none other than Lu Xuan.
Count Dracula came with a specific purpose of exacting his revenge against Lu Xuan for what the latter did.
The Count went straight for Yunxuan Villa on the very next day, right after attacking the WuTang Clan.
However, the defenses of the villa were far above that of the WuTang Clan, and there was also the sword formation that Lu Xuan added in place prior.
The Count made quite an entrance when he got there, which resulted in him being trapped by both the sword formation and the illusory formation. He only managed to escape the villa after paying the price of having his arm cut off by a blast of sword aura.
That was also the first time the Count suffered any damage since the very moment he attacked the Huaxian cultivators.
