Chapter 268: Killing All the Way up the Mountain
Lu Xuan tore the barrier apart with little to no problems at all.
“Who goes there!? How dare you attack the Guimen Sect!?”
An explosive, berating voice was heard from the top of the mountain.
Countless demons came flying at the two of them from the sky with fangs and claws bared, as soon as the voice was heard, yet the incoming demons differed from the illusion conjured by the formation earlier.
Those demons that were flying at the two of them were true specters that time.
Furthermore, those were not the average ghosts, but specters that had apparently mutated into vengeful spirits.
Lu Xuan frowned. There had not been any spirit qi around for a long time, and people were truly dead when they died, having no chance to even become ghosts.
Even if there were to be some places being capable of having ghosts coming into being due to some special circumstances, ghosts were nonetheless exceptionally few and far between. Those beings were as rare as they could be.
Even if there were to be ghosts around, there was nonetheless no chance for all of them to become vengeful spirits as well.

A lightning bolt flashed and over 100 vengeful spirits were unable to so much even shriek in terror, before they were reduced to smoke.
The remained vengeful spirits surrounded Lu Xuan, who then burst with Spiritual Qi all over him, conjuring a golden dragon.
The construct was very life-like, as it howled at the sky.
The golden dragon circled around Lu Xuan, and the vengeful spirits were almost reduced to smoke instantly as soon as they got near the construct.
Lu Xuan was moving so unbelievably fast that it took him only mere moments to get rid of over 100 of those vengeful spirits, making it impossible for any of them to so much even scratch him.
He then heard angry roars from the mountain after getting rid of those vengeful spirits. The voices sounded like they wanted to tear him apart right where he stood at that very moment.
Those who shouted were none other than the high-ranking fighters of the Guimen Sect, whose powers were all invested in those vengeful spirits, which were actually made short work of by Lu Xuan without breaking a sweat at all.
There was simply no way those people could stay calm.
However, Lu Xuan came before them with Ling Huang in tow before long.
Lu Xuan was wearing a t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a pair of Converse sneakers, looking very relaxed and nonchalant.
It was starkly contrasted with those before him, who were wearing clothes of bygone eras, making them look rather ancient.
The leader among them was an elder who held a bone flute in his hand. He looked pale and sickly, as if he had gotten most of his lifeforce sucked out of him. However, no one else knew that the sickly, frail-looking old man was actually the legendary master of the Guimen Sect.
The master of the sect was very powerful and his aura suggested that he was too, a celestial. However, his presence felt rather similar to the old master of the Wuding Sect.
He had sequela left over by cultivation efforts of his early days. There was no spirit qi to be found throughout the world when he was young all those years ago, so his training overtaxed his own lifeforce instead.
“Who the hell are you people?” The sectmaster glared at Lu Xuan. He had no idea who that young man who actually dared to gatecrash the Guimen Sect was.
That young man who came and killed all the hundreds of vengeful spirits that the sect had been nurturing painstakingly for a very, very long time.
“Filthy good-for-nothing.”
Lu Xuan shot a look at the entire sect, finding the place filled with resentment as far the eye could see.
There was no telling just how the members of the sect killed in that mountain, just so to nurture that many vengeful spirits.
There was no telling just how many were brutally tortured when they were alive, before they were able to become vengeful spirits when they died.
Some suffered even worse fates, as not only did they have to endure seemingly endless suffering when they were alive, they had to undergo torture that were even more severe when they died.
It was just like brainwashing them, scrubbing every last ounce of their original will, being reduced to a mere vengeful spirit, and worse still, be made into a weapon of their enemy.
The fate of the victims was indeed tragic.
Even Ling Huang, who had hardly scratched the surface of cultivation despite having begun cultivating, was nonetheless able to tell that the entire sect looked insanely spooky.
He saw the entire mountain to be like a ghost opening its bloody mouth and was about to swallow the world after all.
“You’re in way over you head. Chu Yunfan, do not think for one second that we will be afraid of you, just because you’re known to be the number one in the world or whatever. This is no longer a time where you can call the shots!”
Someone was heard barking out loud.
However, blood sprayed all over the place from his body as soon as he finished talking. He was rendered dead right there and then as a sword cut right through him.
He is taking life like cutting grass!
Everyone around only came to finally realize what that saying meant at that moment.
One was not described to be taking life like cutting grass, when one was killing massive number of people; it was a saying for illustrating how harrowing a person was when killing, due to said person being utterly expressionless while doing so.
They all thought that Lu Xuan did not dare to kill right away like that. It was only at that moment that they realized that they were wrong. Lu Xuan killed with impunity, and he was not afraid of the Guimen Sect at all.
“You talk too much.”
Lu Xuan quipped plainly.
“Hand over my daughter, Ling Fei, and we’ll leave right away. How about that?” Ling Huang said cautiously at the moment.
In his eyes, those people were like gods among mortals. While Lu Xuan had no fear of them, he however, was not confident that he was able to take them on.
His days would have been made very, very hard, if those people were to even have intentions of taking revenge against him.
