Chapter 327: The World in Chaos over Nuclear Arms deployed
Three of the four massive figures of the Covenant of Darkness were rendered dead on the spot.
Lu Xuan’s level of combat prowess was so unbelievably high that it baffled the upper echelons of the many governments around the world.

Every single one of them was put under constant, high-priority surveillance by authorities all over the world. This was especially so when those people continued to invade and pillage while western civilization expanded across the globe. As a result, they brought about seriously massive disasters in several countries.
Countless people despised the sources of disasters with every fiber of their being, yet the sight of Lu Xuan killing every last one of those being complicated their true feelings.
The authorities were all breaking out in a cold sweat at the sight of what was currently on their screens. Ivanov the Wolf King continued to struggle as the huge hand of qi completely pinned him down to the ground. Despite possessing enough strength to easily lift metal blocks well over 10 tons, the Wolf King was still utterly powerless against that huge hand.
The huge hand then continued to lift and slam him onto the ground with immense force.
The frozen ground of the south pole had been in such a state for countless years; one could imagine just how hard the ground actually was. Ivanov might be of flesh and blood with strength rivaling that of steel blocks, but the resulting concussion rendered him completely dazed.
Blood spilled from all over his body.
Ivanov’s massive body was then thrown into the air all of a sudden, before Lu Xuan took a single swing of his sword at the Wolf King.

Ivanov’s massive body was bisected right there and then, before dropping to the ground in two separate pieces. He attempted to struggle to no avail. It did not take long for his wounds to freeze over in the chill of the surrounding blizzard.
He was quickly rendered dead soon after. There was no doubt about that.
Lu Xuan was relieved at the sight of Ivanov’s dead body. With the Wolf King now dead, the Covenant of Darkness was effectively eradicated by then.
The world of cultivators was never one where strength was decided by numbers. The outcomes of battles that truly mattered were always the ones fought between those at the very pinnacle.
The Covenant of Darkness still might possess quite a massive force in quantity, but the loss they suffered at that moment would be something they would never recover from.

“Hmm?” Lu Xuan looked up in the sky all of a sudden, sensing an extreme threat looming right above his head.

A massive missile was seen coming down from the sky soon after, which was flying in Lu Xuan’s direction at blitzing speeds.
“A nuclear missile!”

He was about to shoot the missile down with an arrow.

A shrilling sound was heard as the arrow conjured by Spiritual Qi cleaved through the air, heading straight towards nuclear missile.

A massive mushroom cloud gradually rose from Antarctica on the spot.
This news would soon shock the entire world.
The American military forces had actually deployed a nuclear missile in Antarctica.
While the American military went about dispelling the rumors by claiming it was just a nuclear arms test, nobody bought that story at all.
After all, there had been treaties banning nuclear tests being conducted in the atmosphere for a very long time now.
Furthermore, with the existence of supercomputers, actual tests of nuclear weapons were now insignificant and unnecessary.
The world was thrown into chaos. The fear of the thought of doomsday came to mind once more.
Nobody remembered anyone using genuine nuclear weapons against enemies since World War II. Everyone knew that if a war were to be fought with nuclear weapons, there was no doubt that mutually assured destruction would be the only outcome.
Despite all that, a nuclear weapon was now being deployed; this one was 20 times more powerful than the one deployed in Hiroshima in the past.
One could imagine what mass panic all over the world was like.
Anti-nuclear protests were immediately held in American streets.
Americans began to rally and protest in Washington, making it clear that they were against any form of use of nuclear arms.
Countless environmental activists and members of animal rights organizations went to Washington to voice their displeasure. There was no doubt that performing nuclear arms tests in Antarctica would pollute the entirety of the south pole.
The US government, however, went against conventional expectations by many, refusing to divulge any information regarding the move.
Everyone knew all too well that nuclear weapons were so powerful that they had to be considered a last resort that secular governments had for intimidating and taking out the cultivators.
As time passed, more insider information was being leaked.
The news erupted all across the dark web, especially when cultivators were concerned.
The American government did not simply go on with testing nuclear arms in Antarctica for no reason; they were doing so to take out a single individual.
The one that they wanted to take out was none other than Lu Xuan, the man known in modern legends throughout the world to be one of the strongest beings to exist.
This caused a massive amount of commotion.
Despite Lu Xuan making it clear that he sided with the Huaxian government, he was just another very renowned cultivator among his kind.
The fact that the powerful nations across the world had access to weapons of mass destruction like nuclear weapons was also the very reason that kept the cultivators in check.
However, the thought of governments actually making use of the stockpile of nuclear weapons had previously been mere speculation.
Even so, the American government was now the first to break the silence, making it clear that anyone who posed a sufficient threat would immediately be dealt with using nuclear weaponry.
That was what happened, despite many saying that there was hardly any animosity between Lu Xuan and the US government. Furthermore, Lu Xuan was taking out the Covenant of Darkness sometime in the past.
Now, there was no doubt that the US government had indeed made use of nuclear weapons just to take out Lu Xuan.
There were rumors that it was a decision made by authorities in the US government who were bought over by the Covenant of Darkness.
Then again, everyone knew that the rumor was just an excuse.
There was only one reason why the US government chose to do what they did: Lu Xuan was so powerful that he could pose a sufficient threat to the US. As such, the US government went on to do the unthinkable, hoping to snuff out a never-before-seen legend before he was able to become an even greater threat.
The use of that nuclear missile caused quite a commotion among the cultivators, while at the same time making it clear to all of them that they could no longer do as they please while on this planet.
