It was not that the US government had never done anything to stamp out protests from the people. It was just that they had already done so a very long time ago, back when the internet was nowhere near as prevalent as it currently was.
Many continued to believe that the US served as the beacon of freedom and democracy, so what happened at the moment shocked all those people. While they still had a lot to say, the power of their voices was no longer as forceful and righteous.

That was why it took only words from Lu Xuan to mobilize the entire Maoshan Sect, the members of which were eager to answer to him.
With even the likes of the Covenant of Darkness being almost taken out entirely, there was no doubt that the same could have happened to the Maoshan Sect.
Many saw that there were definitely reasons why the Roman Curia chose to emerge under such circumstances.

The Vatican saw crowds in literally every street.
Reporters from all over the world were broadcasting the grand event live.

The place was glittering everywhere. The radiance remained even in the middle of the night, making it look like some city that never slept.
The Vatican had even expanded on its own. The Italian government dared not even look into it, fearing that they might end up offending the Vatican as they currently were.
One would feel as if they were looking at a place where true gods dwell if one were to look from afar.
The ancient city that had been around for more than a millennium had now shown its true self.
A plane with the Huaxian flag painted on it flew into Italy. The representatives of the Huaxian government entered the Vatican several hours later; they consisted of the Dragon, Ming Yueyao, and some others.
They were soon received by the officials of the Roman Curia and escorted into an ancient palace.
“Please do not hesitate to let us know if you need anything,” A man dressed in clergy attire said to them.
“Will do. We’ll let you know if we do need anything,” the Dragon nodded and replied.
“The advent of angels will begin in three hours. If you have no other matters to attend to, please proceed to St. Peter’s Basilica before then. That will be where the event will take place.”
