Chapter 358: Killing the Pope with a Single Slash

He had never even imagined anyone being able to actually fight him to such a fearsome level.
He initially coined his current state as his invincible state, which meant that he would be invincible in such a state.

He had never experienced being so easily repelled by Lu Xuan before now.
It was at that moment that he finally understood how those whom he pounded on when he was in such an outrageous state truly felt.
It felt like the other side was utterly cheating.
That was how Lu Xuan made him feel at the moment. Be it speed, power, or movements, he had reached a level that was deemed by many to be flawless, which practically made him invincible.
It was due precisely to that, that his intent to kill the other man became even more intense. It was due precisely to Lu Xuan being so impossibly difficult to deal with, that he was unable to afford to just let Lu Xuan off the hook. Consequences would have been dire if he were to be unable to finish the other man.
Lu Xuan was, after all, the greatest obstacles standing in the path of the Roman Curia’s quest to rule the world.
The only way that everyone would truly come to recognize the Roman Curia’s power and submit to them unconditionally was by killing Lu Xuan.
“There’s no doubt I’m gonna die today, huh?” Lu Xuan smirked and burst with such a fearsome aura that it managed to boil the air around him. It seemed to make it clear to all how his blood was now gushing and boiling all over him.
“Everything I threw at you before were just warmups. Here comes the real deal to finish you off!” As Lu Xuan shouted, everyone felt as if the air all around them froze right there and then.
Everyone sensed without a doubt that Lu Xuan’s aura was cranking in a frenzy. It was just like how he put it before; since he was merely warming up before, he had yet to demonstrate what he truly was capable of.
That was what terrified everyone. All of those unbelievably powerful moves he brought before were still not at his best. He was only now about to show how truly terrifying he could be.

Lu Xuan brought a blast of sword aura with his Dragonslayer, causing the air around him to erupt as the move was brought about. Having broken through the sound barrier, he was about to hit Pope Innocent in the chest.
The pope put up his holy sword to block the attack.
Clang!
A loud rumble was heard and the pope felt as if his arms became numb. The attack from Lu Xuan was just too powerful.
The next attack came in less than a second.
The attack landed on the pope’s holy sword yet again, and the force of that attack was even more terrifying than the one that came before.
Boom!
The spot where his thumb and his index finger were had been torn away, sending his holy sword flying right there and then.
Another attack came soon enough, and he was cleaved into two halves along his height from top to bottom before crashing to the ground.
