Chapter 42: A Small Punishment to Prevent Future Mistakes
At the same time, many onlookers had gathered all around the massive battle ring. A portion of them carried a unique air of fierceness that differentiated them from the regular people. They were warriors.
At a tall stand even further away, magnates who were poised and well-dressed took their seats.
Some tourists had stayed back as well. They were all waiting expectantly and were all pumped up.
Right after Li Xun finished speaking, a group of people led by a young man walked up the massive battle ring in large strides.
The leader looked regal as he strutted with the stance of a dragon and tiger.

“Run along, Senior Li!” Guo Yuanyuan quickly said. One look and she could tell that the people on the battle ring weren’t anyone ordinary. She quickly became excited.
Lu Yuling stared wide-eyed at the battle ring as well in slight wonder. While most girls would be bored with blood and guts, she was quite the opposite. She had always been very interested in such things.
She had zero interest in those fair-skinned and delicate guys that ordinary girls would usually like. Quite the opposite, she felt more attraction towards guys who were ripped and manly.
While she knew that Li Xun was trying to get on her good side, she did not feel put off by it.
Li Xun broke into a small run and quickly climbed atop the battle ring. He soon joined the other disciples of the Seven Incredible Sect. The man leading them was none other than Lin Sheng.
Once Lin Sheng saw Li Xun, he simply nodded his head coldly. Then, he instructed someone to bring two chairs and set them down at a corner of the battle ring.
After putting one of the chairs down, a middle-aged man, toned and well-built, walked up and sat in one of the chairs.
Many who were present recognized the middle-aged man at once. He was Hao Danfeng—Chief Elder of the Seven Invincible Sect.
Within the Seven Invincible Sect, his status was second only to the Sectmaster.
Everyone then turned to the other seat. No one knew who it was for, Did Lin Sheng prepare it for himself?
However, to everyone’s surprise, Lin Sheng did not take the seat. Instead, he simply stood to the side.
“Could it be that the Sectmaster of the Seven Incredible Sect would grace the event personally as well?” One could not help but guess. That’s because, within the Seven Invincible Sect, the only one who could receive such esteemed treatment from Lin Sheng could only be his Master—the Sectmaster of the Seven Invincible Sect.

“Isn’t that Lu Xuan?” Lu Yuling couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw Lu Xuan, so she turned to ask Lu Yuanyuan, who was standing beside her.
“That’s him. He must be crazy. That seat be reserved for an important guest of Senior Li’s sect. How dare he sit there?!” Guo Yuanyuan was filled with shock, which quickly turned into disdain. “He can’t read the air at all. I bet he’ll be shot down in the battle ring humiliatingly!”
From how Guo Yuanyuan saw it, Lu Xuan sitting there without any regard for the situation was just inviting disgrace upon himself.
On the other hand, some worry flashed past Lu Yuling’s eyes. Those men could break into a fight when given the slightest trigger. The consequences of offending them would be dire.
While she didn’t like Lu Xuan, she didn’t detest him either. No matter what, he was someone who came here with them, and so she was naturally a little worried.
However, just as the onlookers were all waiting to see how Lu Xuan would be chased off the battle ring, Ling Sheng stepped up and put his hands together in courtesy. “Mr. Lu!”

“How could you…” Li Xun blurted out before he could stop himself. He dared not believe that Lu Xuan was held in such high regard.
Even his Eldest Senior, whom he respected as a celestial being, was so respectful towards Lu Xuan.
Lin Sheng frowned deeply. He immediately sensed that something was amiss. Lu Xuan should have known Li Xun from somewhere, and they sure did not look like they were friends.
“Mr. Lu, did you know my Junior?”
Lu Xuan raised his head and spared a glance at Li Xun. Li Xun could feel cold sweat forming on his forehead. While he may be arrogant and haughty, he was no fool. He quickly understood that he had messed with the wrong guy.
Now, his greatest fear was for Lu Xuan to spill what he did. His gaze was a little pleading.
However, Lu Xuan had no intention to hide it from him. He simplified what happened and relayed it to Lin Sheng.
The moment Lu Xuan finished his piece, Lin Sheng slapped Li Xun hard across the face.
Li Xun’s face was immediately swollen. He even lost two of his front teeth, and blood soon filled his mouth.
“Have you forgotten all about the rules when you first entered the sect? How dare you commit such atrocious acts just because you had some cultivation!” Lin Sheng bellowed.
Everything happened fast, and before anyone could see, Lin Sheng had kicked out a lightning speed. Li Xunscreamed in agony as one of his legs was instantly wasted.
“This is a small punishment to prevent you from committing similar mistakes in the future. Otherwise, you won’t walk out of here alive!” Lin Sheng yelled.
Lu Xuan scanned Lin Sheng and understood that Lin Sheng was trying to save Li Xun’s life. Even a brute would spill blood when angered, let alone a martial arts legend like him.
Although Li Xun would be a disabled man from now on, it was still better than him being killed by Lu Xuan on the spot.
“Mr. Lu, what do you think of this solution?” Lin Sheng immediately enquired.
Lu Xuan nodded. “A small punishment to prevent similar mistakes from happening again. I will let him off this one time!”
“Thank you, Mr. Lu!” Lin Sheng promptly thanked Lu Xuan.
Li Xun still stared at Lu Xuan in the utmost horror. His sect mates immediately carried him away to the side for medical attention. However, the decision made by Lin Sheng as their Eldest Senior was not to be defied.
Even the Chief Elder, Hao Danfeng, simply looked on without a word. His gaze looked a little curious when directed at Lu Xuan.
Just who exactly was he? Why would the lead disciple Lin Sheng, whom even he could not help but feel awe at his talent, venerate him so?
