Chapter 749: The One Who Made an Appearance
Lu Xuan’s melodic voice rang out as he said, “Alright, now start talking. Who sent you?”
“Damn it!”
That middle-aged Taoist priest was fuming. He never expected his calculations to have been wrong. The image of the Yin Yang Fish was still spinning above Lu Xuan, yet it did nothing to impede his movements at all.
Lu Xuan seemed to be able to ignore the lockdown effects from that Yin Yang Fish using just the sheer power of his physical body alone.
That middle-aged Taoist priest took out a fan behind him, which had an image of boundless flames illustrated on it, and he fanned at Lu Xuan.
Boundless roaring flames instantly rose, looking as if they were about to burn Lu Xuan down alive.
Lu Xuan snorted coldly, “You’re biting off way more than you could chew.”
His left arm waved in the air, causing the flames to disappear without a trace.
It was the Heaven and Earth Sleeve.
It was a spell with powers coming from space. With the help of the Chaos Heaven Stabilizer Bell, the spell became more potent when Lu Xuan cast it.
Lu Xuan then waved again. The flames that he had taken away then came flying towards the middle-aged Taoist priest instead.
That priest, on the other hand, couldn’t extinguish the flames as effortlessly as Lu Xuan did.
The flames latched onto him, nearly burning him to a crisp. With flames all over his body, he let out pained shrieks shortly afterward.
He took what he dished out at the enemy.
“Run!”
That priest decided to flee from the battle almost instantly, frantically running as far as he could. It was only then that he finally remembered that Lu Xuan was rumored to have killed people at the ninth tier of the Divine Transformation Realm before.
He was only at the eighth tier of the Divine Transformation Realm, yet he was not even among the peak powers found in the Immemorial Path.
There was just no way he could stand against such a monster.
“You think you could run?” Lu Xuan waved and a bolt of lightning appeared in his hand. The bolt turned into a Dragon-snaring Lasso right away and ensnared that priest, bringing him crashing to the ground.
His face was all messed up from the crash.
Someone at the eighth tier of the Divine Transformation Realm was deemed nearly defenseless when taking on Lu Xuan. Even though Lu Xuan was at a lower tier than the priest, his powers were still terrifying.
At that moment, the priestess called out, “Master, help me!”
“Useless piece of trash!”
A cold snort was heard from afar and the space wavered. A man wearing black clothing and a mask appeared at the fissure which that priest opened before. His head was covered by silver strands of hair.
It was obvious that he was utterly disappointed in that priest.
“How interesting.”
Lu Xuan rubbed his chin a little and wore a cold smirk. Liu Haotian, who was still undergoing the nirvana transformation was brought into the Secret Realm of Tianhai.
Lu Xuan looked at that masked man in black attire and said, “I guess you must be the one behind this. You’re pretty bold, I’ll give you that. This is the Immemorial Path’s turf, after all.”
That masked man-in-black simply snorted coldly and replied, “So what if it is? Nobody can stop me from going wherever I want to go.”
That masked man concealed his Spiritual Aether; not even a single trace of it leaked from his body.
Upon activating his Delusion-breaker Eyes, Lu Xuan was able to sense the terrifying aura fluctuations surrounding that masked man. The masked man then completely concealed it within his body, preventing any outsider from discovering it.
The masked man bluntly said, “Hand over the one of the sacred bloodline, and I shall give you a swift and honorable death.”
He didn’t care about that priest; he only wanted to get his hands on the one who was of the sacred bloodline.
Lu Xuan stepped forward with a smirk as he casually said, “All you offer me for handing him over is just an honorable death? Doesn’t seem like you’re being sincere at all.”
“This is the Immemorial Path’s turf. Don’t you know that it would only take moments for your tracks to be completely exposed? I wonder how you’d like to die by then?”
Lu Xuan behaved as casually as he usually would. While that masked man was powerful, it was just as Lu Xuan said; they were inside Immemorial Path territory, which had been fortified numerous times over the past millennia. If the people of the sect were to be alerted, even someone as powerful as Xuanyangzi would have a hard time making it out alive. If there was a chance that Xuanyangzi could even die, there was no way that the masked man could avoid meeting the same fate.
It became apparent that the masked man had only been able to avoid detection probably because that downed priest led the way, avoiding all the checkpoints before appearing where they now were.
However, Lu Xuan was still on high alert. Someone at the eighth tier of the Divine Transformation Realm would’ve still been considered a higher-up in the sect, yet someone like that was considered to be a spy for outsiders.
If the news were to be spread outside, it would have caused quite a commotion.
That bit of news was capable of shaking the entire Holy Sun Continent.
The prestigious Immemorial Path actually had spies lurking in their ranks.
It seemed similar to when someone had been forced against their will before, yet all they wanted was to do their current job right.
“How naïve of you. There’s no point in trying to buy yourself time here. I’ve added barriers nearby, so nobody will know about anything that happens within the next hour.” With full confidence in his powers, the masked man wasn’t worried about Lu Xuan being able to turn the tide.
The way he saw it, everything was under his complete control.
Lu Xuan then said, “Then it looks like I don’t have much of a choice then. I take it that you people were the ones who had been hunting down the sacred ones for the past several millennia then.”
As the masked man raised his eyebrows, a tinge of killing intent was seen rising in his eyes right away. The way he saw it, Lu Xuan knew too much.
That masked man finally couldn’t take it anymore and made his move. A terrifying aura burst out of him right away, causing the small world around them to shake until it looked like it was about to collapse.
Under the force of his powerful aura, the entire place looked as if it was about to come down unto itself. The ground was trembling and everything looked like they were boiling.
That move alone spoke volumes of how terrifying his powers were; they were at the very peak of the Divine Transformation Realm.
He stood at the very top of the entire realm.
While his powers were somewhat inferior to those of Xuanyangzi, he was already more or less on the level of Xuanyangzi.
After all, he was able to make that small world look like an Armageddon all on his own.
He only took one step forward before Lu Xuan already sensed a terrifying aura washing all over him like a divine mountain coming down on him, so much so that it almost suffocated him.
Lu Xuan unleashed his own terrifying aura and that golden light emanating from him almost made the entire place glitter.
“So, you’re one of the sacred ones then?” That masked man looked at Lu Xuan in surprise, but that surprised look on his face was quickly replaced by one of frenzy.
“Hahahaha, what a day indeed! Today must be my lucky day!”
After Lu Xuan made his move, the masked man was able to tell almost immediately that Lu Xuan was of born Taoism aptitude.
That organization had been fighting against those with such a physique for thousands of years, hunting down many who had awakened such powers throughout the ages. As such, he could easily tell that Lu Xuan showed the traits of born Taoism aptitude.
It was indeed a delightful surprise like no other.
