“Hi, Zhang-jie.”
“Hey, you’ve moved in?” Zhang-jie looked over at Shu Yan and said happily, “Ah, it’s going to be much livelier around here.”
She moved in end of last month and they were the only family on this floor. Now that she had been used to being the sole resident of this floor, this would take some getting used to.
“Yeah, when the one from across from you moved in on the 25th, our floor will truly be lively. Zhang-jie hasn’t had lunch yet, right? Want to grab something real quick over at my place?” Shu Yan opened up her door to invite Zhang-jie in.
“No need. No need. I’ve just ate over at my mom’s.” Having said that, she let out a sigh. “My distant relative came to visit again. My old place is available but I have already moved all my stuff over here. I’m here to grab a blanket.”
“The distant relative that you mentioned last time?”
“Yeah, that one.” This time Zhang-jie didn’t complain unhappily. “Her daughter is studying at City Nan University. I just found this out last time. Just you say, if her kid is attending City Nan University, she should have put down my address when they applied.”
Shu Yan thought to herself, that wasn’t what you’ve said last time. In fact, you said she wasn’t courteous enough.
“She is here to visit her child?” asked Shu Yan.
“Yeah, speaking of, she’s an unlucky woman as well. Her husband passed away when she was young and only left her with a daughter. Someone around 35 – 45 years old would be the best. Next, she has to be clean, especially when it came to cooking. If they couldn’t rinse off the vegetables or do the dishes properly, Shu Yan wouldn’t be able to eat what she has prepared. Then there was her character. She would, after all, have to rely on her to pick up and drop off her children. She had read on the news kids being kidnapped by the nanny. She would need to look for someone that she was familiar with.
Now she had just ran into someone who was 39 years old, just the perfect age. She was Zhang-jie’s relatives, not a complete stranger. Most importantly, she has a daughter attending City Nan University. She has just this one daughter. Meaning, she wouldn’t commit a crime unless she wants her daughter to have a criminal mother. As for her cleanliness, time would tell.
