“Business is doing well,” said Shu Yan with a chuckle.
“Perfect timing. We have a meeting in a little while. It’s about the new franchisees and new advertisement.”
It was almost spring and people would no longer be wearing their fall sets. The sales of those would drop by then. Except that Yuanxue did more than just fall clothes. Ever since the inception of the company last year, they have already added casual household outfits and underwear production lines in their factories.
“It will be difficult to have underwear commercials on CCTV. I say we focus on our casual household wear.”
Boss Wang’s speech was spectacular and Shu Yan sat and listened to her quietly the entire time. Everything was fine overall but she felt that the number of franchisees was a little on the conversative side.
“We were inexperienced and lacked confidence last year with our first badge of franchisees. Now that most of our franchised shops are doing well, I think we can start our franchise in second-tier cities.” Shu Yan felt that 50 franchise shops for round two was a little on the low end.
Hu Ruixue mulled over what Shu Yan had said.
“I have another suggestion as well. We can set up branch offices in major cities and have authorized dealers in others.” Some of the more remote areas were difficult to get to; they would be better off to having authorized dealers in those locations.
After they have returned to their offices, Hu Ruixue leaned back, smiled at Shu Yan and said, “How exactly does your brain work? How are you so smart?”
“Don’t be silly. Two eyes and a nose just like you. You are much smarter than I am.” Shu Yan took a sip of water and asked, “I was told that you are planning on building new factories and move into the women’s clothing market?”
“Just a plan. Don’t worry, I won’t be that reckless,” said Hu Ruixue seriously.
Shu Yan had officially backed out from Lao Zhang’s operation and would only be receiving her cut going forward. She didn’t need to worry about anything factory-related. On Hu Ruixue’s end, they have elites that had studied abroad managing the company. With the exception of more serious issues, she didn’t seem to be able to contribute much. As such, Shu Yan decided to go home.
“I’ll have the chauffeur take you. By the way, when are you going to get your driver’s license? It’s so inconvenient not having your own car.” Hu Ruixue got hers last year; she just didn’t drive a lot.
She was right, though. It was certainly a hassle without a car of her own. Shu Yan had thought about getting her own driver’s license a while back but something else always happened that needed her attention.
“We can have the chauffeur start teaching you tomorrow. I’ll have someone get you a driver’s license.” Hu Ruixue sounded very casual when she said that. Truth was there weren’t a lot of driving school then and one without background or relationships might not even be able to get in.
“No need. I can go take the test myself.” She had no idea how different were cars between now and the future. Besides, she didn’t own a car in the past and had never driven ever since she had earned her driver’s license. It’d be best for her to refamiliarize herself or she’d really worry about driving again.
“Okay. Then use my instructor. I’ll sign you up.” Hu Ruixue felt that her instructor was a very patient person and has a good temper.
“Okay. Make me an appointment. I’ll go take the test soon.”
“Make you an appointment? Just let him know when you are free and you can just go.” Hu Ruixue gave her old instructor a call immediately and he agreed to it right away.
That’s why Shu Yan learned that there were common and VIP types. In VIP, it was 1-to-1 student and instructor and there was no need to make an appointment in advance. One could just go whenever one felt ready to go take the test. Granted, the cost is also astronomical. A driver’s license could cost upward of 70,000 ~ 80,000 yuan. That was quite an amount.
She needed to go merchandizing tonight and restock her shop tomorrow. She would be busy for the next few days so, after contemplating over it for a little bit, Shu Yan made an appointment for the week after.
“If you are busy. You can just have the instructor take the test for you.” Hu Ruixue genuinely didn’t think the lessons were necessary. It would be much better to just have hands-on experiences a couple of times.
“Let me take the lessons first,” said Shu Yan with a smile.
She placed a call to the driver. It was just after new year and there were no other customers. Shu Yan thought about it for a little bit and decided to reserve the entire car. She would just get more merchandizes then.
As soon as she had put her hone down, the driver made another call. “Yu-ge, Miss Shu will be going merchandizing tonight.”
“Okay. Got it. Give her a call in a little bit and said I would like to split the ride with her.”
