Chapter 295: Shu Yan chuckled, "That goes without saying." (2)
Shu Yan was still infuriated by the time she had returned to her shop. So unfortunate that both landlords that she ran into in City Nan were so shameless. They would at least be forthcoming about being envious of how well her shop was doing. What was this crap about their daughter’s future? The audacity! They really didn’t care how they came across.
Truth was, having this shop or not made no difference to Shu Yan. That did not, however, meant she was okay with their behavior.
“What did the landlady want to talk to you about, Boss Lady?” The girl couldn’t help but ask.
“Nothing important. Xiuxiu, can you come with me for a second?” Shu Yan took Xiuxiu to the storeroom and said to her in a low voice. “The landlady wanted to take the shop back because we are doing so well.”
“Oh! What are we going to do?” Zhang Huaxiu had not expected that to be the reason why the landlady was looking for Shu Yan.
Sitting on top of the clothes, Shu Yan started coming up with Plan B. One way or another, she needed alternatives.
She used her own storefront as her company’s direct sale shop. As their company grew, the storefront was no longer big enough for that purpose. Hu Ruixue rented a much larger place at City Nan Mall and the remodeling was near the end. Their original plan was to turn that into a branch shop but now Shu Yan thought she would just tell Hu Ruixue that she would just take it back and convert that into her clothing shop.
Perfectly opportunity for her to settle matters over here. She had been busy with her company and really didn’t have time for her clothing shop anymore. The once-a-week merchandizing trip really was not worth her time. She had a difficult time giving up her for business but this had provided her with the perfect reason.
“You know that underwear shop across the street? My plan is to turn that into a clothing shop and we will move over there. That being said, I am juggling a lot lately and won’t be able to manage it. As such, I have two propositions. You let me know which one you are interested in?”
“Me?” Zhang Huaxiu first’s reaction was panic when Shu Yan talked about closing up shop. Then she felt that Shu Yan’s new plan might be beneficial to her.
“Yes. My first proposition is to transfer all the inventory here over to you, along with the shop across the street. You can be the boss lady yourself. The second one is us working together. I’ll take care of the remodeling across the street and you won’t have to pay anything for the inventory here. Basically I will shell out the capital and you will be responsible for managing it. You will handle the merchandizing going forward and we will split the profit 50/50.” Shu Yan told Zhang Huaxiu her propositions.
Zhang Huaxiu took a deep breath. They were not what she had expected but both of them were tempting.
“Can I… have some time to think over it?”
“Of course. You talk it through with Chen Fei. If you don’t like either one of them, I will look for someone else.” It was such a great opportunity that Shu Yan knew someone would bite. Even Ling-jie would pick the second proposition. Who wouldn’t want to be their own boss without having to shell out a dime?
Shu Yan called up Hu Ruixue immediately after her conversation with Zhang Huaxiu. She briefly explained the situation to her and Hu Ruixue was even angrier than she was.
“I will have them move the underwear shop to the shopping mall right away. You have your people move your stuff from the storeroom over. And, don’t forget to have all of your remodeling removed when you leave.”
Shu Yan busted out laughing, “That goes without saying.”
Hu Ruixue was very efficient and immediately had the underwear shop moved.
Chen Fei too, was very efficient. He brought over a team to remodel the shop across from them. An underwear shop is, after all, not exactly the same as a clothing shop. They did not need any major changes. After looking the place over, Chen Fei said he would only need 2 ~ 3 days’ time.
