Chapter 356: Shu Yan smiled. Of course she had faith in Fang Zeyu. (1)
“Our company is planning on expanding into women’s clothing. There were a bunch of stuff to take care of today. I have been in meetings all day.” After saying that, Shu Yan asked him, “How was your day?”
“Not too bad. I had a few comrades helping me out.” The two chatted all the way home.
“I’ll head home first them. You go home too.” Shu Yan waved at him before she turned to leave.
Feng Zeyu wouldn’t normally drove his car back to the village. He found a place to park it, got out of the car, and walked back.
A woman was pacing by the entrance of the village. She was just about to go up when she saw Feng Zeyu but, noticing there was another passerby, she quickly retreated. She didn’t want to be seen.
Feng Zeyu walked forward in a steady pace and stopped around the corner. He waited for a minute or so before he grabbed the person walking toward him and pinned her against the wall. Noticing that it was a woman, he quickly let go of her and backed away some two meters from her.
“Who are you? Why are you stalking me?” He noticed that someone was following him and was very bad at it. He never expected that it was a woman.
“Me?” Zhou Xiao Mei rubbed her wrist and looked at Feng Zeyu in fear. “I mean you no harm. Do you remember saving someone on Gongren Road two years ago?”
Feng Zeyu looked at her carefully. He seemed to recall saving someone. He didn’t look too closely at her at the time but they were the only other ones there other than the attacker, so she must be the girl at the time if she knew of the incident.
“You are the girl from that night. But why are you following me?” He only let go of the attacker because she begged him that she couldn’t afford to let words out about the incident with her job and fiancé. He did, however, pull some other stunts later on to send the man to jail.
Zhou Xiao Mei bit her lower lip, summoned up enough courage and asked him, “Do you know Sixth Grandma from Xiazhuang Village?”
Feng Zeyu was familiar with Sixth Grandma, she was one of the old lady’s girlfriends and came over quite often. Feng Zeyu hadn’t spoken with her a lot, though.
“Last time, Sixth Grandma came to my place and mentioned you to me. She said that…… we are a good match. I sneaked a peek at you once and found out that you were the man who saved me the other day. So…… em, I have not introduced myself yet. My name is Zhou Xiao Mei and I am a literature teacher at a high school.
Feng Zeyu seemed to vaguely recalled his grandmother mentioning a girlfriend of hers referred a woman to him and she was a teacher in her 30s. She had dated before and was engaged. Their betrothal, however, was called off a few years after he went abroad.
“My grandma had mentioned it to me before but I had also told her that I am already seeing someone. I trusted that she had related that to Sixth Grandma. I will be on my way if there is nothing else.” Feng Zeyu nodded, turned, and was about to leave.
“Comrade Fang.” Zhou Xiao Mei stopped him. “Then you should know that my betrothal was called off. I had dated before but our relationship was pure. I am still a girl and I am a teacher. My job is cozy and has a lot of time off. You would not need to worry about child-rearing in the future. Are you sure you don’t want to give this some consideration?”
Feng Zeyu turned and gave Zhou Xiao Mei a cold look. “As I have said, I am seeing someone. She’s a fairy in my eyes and no woman can measure up to her. With what Teacher Zhou has to offer, I am sure you will be able to find someone better than me. It is getting late. If we stay any longer there will be gossips when we are seen together. You should head back quickly, Teacher Zhou.”
Zhou Xiao Mei looked around and saw a villager heading their direction from a far. She pinched her lips shut a little and said, “Comrade Fang, I really do like you. I hope you will give this some thought.” She then turned and ran away.
Feng Zeyu shook his head. He had a pretty good idea what he liked or disliked.
