The woman whispered into his ear and he looked up and smiled. “This is all a misunderstanding. This girl is referred to us by her roommate and her roommate said she had already explained all the details to her. We would not otherwise have her sign the contract.”
“But the one that I signed was not the same as the one that you’ve showed me later.” Li Shuyu held her mother’s hand tightly. Whether she could get out of here all depended on this moment.

Hu Ruixue didn’t say anything. She took the contract from Wang Xiaosan and looked over it. It says 10 yuan per hour and must work a minimum of 20 hours per week. If they couldn’t, then their hourly rate would be lowered to 8 yuan per hour. They would need to give one month notice in order to quit. It was a very standard contract.
“Well, what do you want to do? Do you want to keep working here?” Hu Ruixue handed the two contracts over to Li Shuyu.
Li Shuyu shook her head frantically. She wouldn’t dare to work there anymore. She was already too grateful being able to get out this time.
“As it was my people who made the mistake, I, too, am responsible as their boss. If you want to continue to work here, I’ll make you the lead. 3,000 yuan a month before your bonus. If you don’t want to continue to work here, I’ll have someone tally up your wages and give you three times the amount.” Of course, Wang Xiaosan was only polite to Li Shuyu because of Hu Ruixue.
“No, no. I don’t want to work here anymore.” Li Shuyu shook her head immediately.
Wang Xiaosan told is assistant next to him and Finance quickly tallied out Li Shuyu’s wages. She worked full time during the winter vacation, meaning 7 hours a day. A permanent employee would be paid 500 yuan plus bonus but Li Shuyu, as a temporary employee who worked for 12 days. Three times of that came out to be 2,520 yuan. “That’s too much.” Li Shuyu shook her head and pulled out several bills to return to Wang Xiaosan.
“The extra is to make up to you,” said Wang Xiaosan with a smile. Several hundred yuan was immaterial to him.
“Keep it.” Hu Ruixue had Li Shuyu kept the extra. In the end of the day, Wang Xiaosan was being so easygoing because of the Hu family. The two families were family friends and Wang Xiaosan’s brother was a brother of Hu Ruixue’s brother. “Your brother does the scholar route. Don’t bring him down with you.”
“I won’t. This really is a legit business. It’s all a misunderstanding.” Wang Xiaosan gave her an aggrieved look.
“Well, good then.” Hu Ruixue hrumphed and said, “I got other matters to tend to. We will be on our way.”
Li Shuyu had already changed back into her own clothes and followed closely behind Aunty.
