Chapter 1136 - Curse Of Having Family
For the next month, things were going to be busy for Lu Lijun and Jiang Yuyan. The two came across each other but maintained a professional stance.
Lu Lijun didn't go to her claiming her as a wife. She already went to her parent's home, and he didn't wish for her to stop coming to the office now. Seeing her once in a while in the office was enough for him, and he could focus on his work. Moreover, he needed to prove himself first to be able to go to her with his head high.
Every night, Jiang Yuyan saw him standing in front of the building while looking at her floor. She couldn't go to him, and neither could ask him to stop coming there, knowing he wouldn't listen to her. The last time she talked to him when he was in front of her home, things turned into him acting stubborn again.
She didn't wish to hear him calling his wife and thought to wait patiently till he finished the important project and then she can do something really effective to stop him. At the moment, his own and the entire Lu corporation's future was in his hands.
First, fifteen days of the one month passed by peacefully.
On the sixteenth day, Jiang Yuyan had to be ready to hear what her parents were waiting to talk to her about. After dinner, when they were free, Jiang Yuyan was asked to sit with them for some talk. Jiang Yang knew what it was, and he quietly sat there to see how it would go.
"Is it again about going to the USA?" Jiang Yuyan asked her serious-looking parents.
Jiang Peizhi cleared his throat as this time he preferred to talk to his daughter. "It's not about that."
Jiang Yuyan waited for her father to talk.
"I want to know, what do you plan to do after Lu Lijun handles everything?" Jiang Peizhi asked.
It was so sudden for her. Though she had her plans, she didn't wish to talk about it."
"I didn't think about it yet," she replied.
"Well, once he will take everything in his hand, you would be free to do what you want, and there is nothing that would hold you back," said Jiang Peizhi as he hesitated to bring out the real thing.
"Father, there was nothing that held me back. It was my choice to be there always," she countered.
"I know," Jiang Peizhi agreed and turned a bit hesitant. Mo Ruolan gave him an assured gaze.
Jiang Yuyan noticed her parent's expressions. "What exactly does father want to say?" Jiang Yuyan asked directly.
"We, I mean we three want you to start a new life," Jiang Peizhi added.
"And?" she waited as if having no clue of what it was about.
"We want you to think about getting married again," said Jiang Peizhi.
Jiang Yuyan sighed as she didn't take it as a surprising move from her parents. They were right in their place.
Jiang Yuyan looked at both, "Mother-father, I don't plan to marry anyone."
Mo Ruolan said, "We understand you, but you need to start a new life, have your family…."
"I agree with starting a new life, but for that, I don't think I need to marry someone. I have my people and family already; I don't need to get another one," Jiang Yuyan interrupted her mother.
"Dear, It's not just about having a family. You know life is long, and we need a companion. Someone who cares for you, someone who loves you….be there always for you..."
"Mother, I am over all those things. I just want to be alone, and trust me, I will be happy," Jiang Yuyan replied calmly. She couldn't disregard her parent's worry for her.
Mo Ruolan looked at her son. "Don't you have anything to say to your sister?"
"Well...if she wants to spend her life being single, then it's good for me. I'll have someone accompanying me in my singlehood," Jiang Yang replied.
It surprised his parents, while Jiang Yuyan could expect nothing less from her brother.
"You..why would you be single?" Mo Ruolan exclaimed.
"Because I want to," Jiang Yang replied casually.
Mo Ruolan turned angry and looked at her husband. "Not just our daughter but now our son too. What had we done wrong to turn their lives like this?"
"Mother, it has nothing to do with you or father. It is just about what we want. Marrying someone is not the only thing to do in life. We can be happy without that, too," Jiang Yuyan explained.
"Now my sister really got some brain," Jiang Yang sided with her.
Jiang Yuyan glared at her brother. "This brain was the one to handle the entire Lu Corporation and the annoying brother like you since the day I was born."
"Well, I give your brain some appreciation points for that," Jiang Yang replied, "And some brownie points for keeping up with a brother like me."
Jiang Yuyan smirked mockingly, being ready to say something more.
These two talked as if they were the only ones there while ignoring their angry mother, who wanted to talk to them.
"Both of you," Mo Ruolan exclaimed, and the two finally looked at their mother.
Mo Ruolan glared at her son, "I'll talk to you later. First, let me get to your sister."
Seeing her angry, both young ones kept quiet.
"We have a proposal of a nice guy for you," Mo Ruolan informed.
"Mom!...."
"I am not done yet," Mo Ruolan interrupted Jiang Yuyan. She was going soft till now, considering her daughter's feelings, but it seemed like she needed to be tough with her now.
"He is Grandpa Ming's Friend's grandson. He lives in the USA and handles family business there. He most probably will settle there only. You will have a chance to move away from everything and start a new life." Mo Ruolan said everything in one breath.
"Breathe, mom!" Jiang Yang commented, and Mo Ruolan slowed down.
Jiang Peizhi glared at his son, who still didn't get the seriousness of the situation.
Jiang Yuyan sighed deeply, not knowing how to handle her mother. "I don't want to…."
Mo Ruolan ignored her. "He will be in China for some time, and I want you to at least meet him," Mo Ruolan instructed like a strict mother who didn't wish to take a no for an answer.
