Chapter 439 Visit To The Temple
The next day, both the families prepared to visit the temple. Elder Lu was in his room standing in front of the mirror wearing a grey suit while straightening up the collar and observing himself carefully.
Grandma Zhao Shuang who was wearing a simple black dress came to him with the tie in her hand and looked at him with a pleasant smile on her face. "I never saw you getting ready this carefully in the past few years."
"As if you don't know the reason. You are the one to make me do this," Saying elder Lu turned to look at his wife.
Grandma Zhao Shuang put the tie around his collar to make a knot and said as if she didn't understand what elder Lu Meant, "Me? I doubt if it's me as I don't mind if you come with me in messy clothes."
Lowering his eyes to look at his wife who was busy making a knot, elder Lu said, "Who was the one to come with the idea of all the family members from both sides should come to the temple?"
Lifting her head up to look at her husband, Grandma Zhao Shuang replied, "Isn't it what you wished for so many years?"
Smiling, Elder held the loose strand of grey hair in his fingers that was separated from Grandma Zhao Shuang's tiny hair bun on the back of her head. Tucking it behind her ear, elder Lu said, "Thank you so much for always being so thoughtful."
"You should say it to your grandson, not me." Saying, Grandma Zhao Shuang continued making a knot of tie standing in front of him and elder Lu nodded.
Everyone was ready and came downstairs in the living room to leave all together being ready in elegant and simple clothes. Lu Qiang came downstairs with Lu Lijun. Lu Qiang was wearing a black suit while Lu Lijun was wearing a white shirt and black pants. Seeing everyone but Lu Feng, Lu Lijun asked, "Where is brother Lu Feng?"
Lu Qiang looked around and pulled out the cell phone from his pocket to call Lu Feng as thinking he was trying to avoid it just like when they all were going out for a family trip.
"Where are you?" Lu Qiang asked the moment Lu Feng received the call.
"Right behind you." Lu Feng answered and Lu Qiang turned around to look at the direction of the staircase. Lu Feng was at the staircase while holding the cell phone in his hands and stepped towards Lu Qiang.
"Were you worried that I won't come?" Lu Feng asked as he reached his brother.
"Hmm!" Lu Qiang nodded.
"Don't worry. I told you, I will be with you always till your wedding," Lu Feng said. Looking at his grandpa, Lu Feng said again, "Seems like our old man is tensed today."
"He will see his friend after so many years," Lu Qiang replied.
All left to go out of the mansion to go towards their respective cars and left for the temple.
In the Ming Mansion, there was the same scenario. Everyone was getting ready to visit the temple, but more than anything they were excited to see how that scene would be when two old friends will face each other. Everyone was ready and came to the living room while waiting for elder Ming to come downstairs.
Jiang Yuyan was wearing a white, elegant, full-sleeved dress long below her knees with her hair left open. All the ladies were wearing simple and elegant dresses with fewer accessories as it was the occasion of visiting the temple while men were ready in their suits. Suddenly they heard the sound of a walking stick of elder Ming and they looked at the staircase.
Elder Ming was coming downstairs, holding his walking stick and wearing a black suit. He looked impressive while carrying his usual cold expressions. As he reached downstairs, he didn't stop where others were standing and stepped towards the door of the Ming mansion and said, "We should leave now as I don't want that old man to blame us for being late."
All understood and followed him to go outside. Sitting in the respective cars, they left for the temple.
The temple was outside of the city in peaceful surroundings. Soon both families reached the temple. First, the Lu Family reached and waited for the Ming and Jiang family to arrive there. In a while, they reached and everyone could sense the coldness around as to think what will happen. Elder Lu was the most nervous person, but he maintained calmness on his face. Grandma Zhao Shuang looked at him and smiled as assuring that everything would be fine.
As the cars stopped, Lu Jinhai and Lu Chen stepped forward along with their wives to welcome Ming and Jiang Family. Lu Qiang's eyes were looking for Jiang Yuyan and as she stepped out of the car, Jiang Yang stood up in front of her to block the view for Lu Qiang. Lu Qiang was calm, but his eyes had something hidden in them as if the next moment he would beat Jiang Yang.
Noticing it, Jiang Yang gave him a teasing smile, so Lu Qiang said, looking at Lu Feng, "Seems like your man will get beaten up by me." 1
Hearing it, Lu Feng looked at him with narrowed eyes but said nothing as Lu Lijun was there.
Elder Ming didn't show it on his face, but he was as nervous as elder Lu to face his old friend. When everyone stepped out of the cars, elder Ming continued sitting inside and looked at his friend, who was standing far at one side. Giving out a deep sigh, finally, he stepped out of the car.
Elder Lu, who was standing calmly looking at everyone greeting each other, stepped towards elder Ming who came out of the car. Elder Ming saw his friend coming towards him and stepped forward. As both friends were standing facing each other, they didn't know how to react or what to say while others were standing looking at them, holding their breaths.
Finally, elder Lu cleared his throat and asked, "How have you been, Ming Shihong?" 2
