Chapter 507: New Relationships...
The next morning, Lu Qiang woke up but Jiang Yayan was still sleeping. Not disturbing her, he got ready and went to the breakfast table.
"Where is my dear?" elder Lu asked when everyone was present at the breakfast table.
"She is sleeping," Lu Qiang replied casually, enjoying the food. Others understood but elder Lu still stretched the topic.
"You should not keep her awake for long. See, she missed her breakfast," elder Lu said with a serious tone.
Lu Qiang wanted to reply to his grandpa but he looked at Lu Lijun who was sitting beside him and decided to not say anything.
Just then Lu Feng came to the breakfast table and said to the servant, "Bring my breakfast to the garden, in the gazebo."
The servant nodded and Lu Feng spoke again. "Lu Lijun, would you like to join me for breakfast in the garden?"
Lu Lijun nodded but still looked at Lu Qiang to ask him. Lu Qiang nodded a little as saying go ahead.
Lu Feng took Lu Lijun with him and Lu Qiang looked at his grandpa.
"Why are you looking at me like this? I am just concerned about my dear," elder Lu said.
"What do you expect to happen once the couple is married? Isn't it normal to keep sleeping for long and missing breakfast once in a while? I am sure you must have made my grandma miss her lunch even."
"Cough!" elder Lu looked at his wife.
Giving him a cold glare, grandma said, "Can't you stop being overly caring for her, honey? Our grandson can take care of her, you just look after your half-dead knees which are troubling you, nowadays."
"My knees are perfectly fine. It's just a result of working hard for you all these years." Again shameless words came from elder Lu.
Looking down at her dish, to get a spoon full of soup, grandma said, "I didn't know, with the hair turning grey, the level of shamelessness would increase too."
She then looked at Lu Qiang and said, "Just ignore him," and Lu Qiang nodded, smiling a little.
Hearing it, elder Lu frowned but didn't say much. He knew his wife would definitely say something to shut him again.
When Jiang Yuyan woke up, she saw Lu Qiang was not in the room and the second thing she did was to look at the table clock. Looking at the time, she got out of the bed with lightning speed. "Fuck! It's so late."
She went to the bathroom in a hurry to get freshen up and to get ready to go downstairs. When she was ready, she went to the living room. Everyone just finished breakfast and came out of the dining room and sat on the sofa.
Seeing them she felt a bit awkward as they must have wondered why she was not there for breakfast with them. It was her first day in the Lu Mansion after the wedding and she was sleeping till late and even missed having breakfast with the whole family.
Lu Qiang was on the phone call, so he was not there to make her feel at ease. Elder Lu was the first one to notice her and went to her.
"Good morning, my dear."
"Morning, Grandpa." Saying she looked at other family members who were sitting on the sofa to greet them, smiling awkwardly.
"Honey, don't keep her standing there now as your detective senses might be awakened till now. Let her have breakfast first."
It was the sweet voice of grandma Zhao Shuang. When she called elder Lu as honey, it sounded sweeter than honey but the words which used to come out after that sweet word, were the one to mock him, showing how she had handled this shameless man.
"Ohh, right! Have breakfast first and then we can talk the whole day once the devil leaves you alone." elder Lu said. Just then a voice interrupted him.
"She has no problem if the devil sticks to her for every single moment," Lu Qiang said while standing beside his wife and circling his hand around her shoulder. He then looked at her on his side and asked, "Am I right, LOVE?"
He intentionally said the last word LOVE, giving pressure on it. Jiang Yuyan didn't know how to react as everyone was there looking at three of them, enjoying the show.
"Cough! I am starving," she said as she knew it was the only way out.
Lu Qiang nodded, taking his hand off from her shoulder and before anyone else could say anything, grandma looked at Ning Jiahui.
Understanding, her mother-in-law, Ning Jiahui spoke while getting up from the sofa. "Come with me, Yuyan."
The ladies in the home didn't want these two shameless men to embarrass her even more on the day when it was her first day with them as the daughter-in-law of this household.
Jiang Yuyan went to the dining table and Ning Jiahui instructed the servants. When Jiang Yuyan sat there for breakfast, her mother-in-law, Ning Jiahui sat there to give her company.
As she started eating, Ning Jiahui said, "I asked servants to prepare this just for you as you like it."
"Thank you..Aunty..cough...I..mean...mother." Jiang Yuyan said.
To date, she always called Ning Jiahui as an aunt and suddenly she had to call her a mother.
Ning Jiahui smiled seeing her flustered as she called her aunt and said, "It's fine. It will take time for you to get adjusted to the new changes."
Jiang Yuyan nodded smiling a little and Ning Jiahui said again, "It's not just you but it happened with me too."
Jiang Yuyan looked at her mother-in-law surprisingly and stopped eating to know what she meant."
"You know that your father-in-law and I are distant cousins. We spent our childhood together as our ancestral town was occupied with all the close and distant relatives. Since I was a kid, I called mother, I mean my mother-in-law as an aunt but things changed suddenly when I got married. It took me time to adjust to the new changes in the relationships. So you can take your time too."
