Chapter 518 Trying To Remember
"I will do it. You go get fresh first," Jiang Yuyan said.
Nodding Lu Qiang stepped aside to go to the bathroom. He looked unusually silent that Jiang Yuyan noticed, but she didn't ask him. She pulled out clothes for him and waited for him to come out of the bathroom. He came out with a white towel wrapped around his waist. There was no change in his expression from before. He still looked like he was thinking about something.
He stood up in front of the mirror and Jiang Yuyan handed him his clothes one by one as he wore them. "Thank you."
Jiang Yuyan accepted his thank you by smiling at him when she wanted to say there was no need as she was his wife. She preferred to be silent too.
Once he was done, she asked, "Is something bothering you?"
"Hmm!" Lu Qiang didn't want to lie or hide from her anything. "But I don't know what I should be bothered about." He sat on the couch as if he was helpless.
"What happened," she asked.
"There is something that I should know but I don't know," he replied, still immersed in his thoughts, that didn't explain anything to Jiang Yuyan and instead left her puzzled.
He was answering her but he himself looked confused and deep in his thoughts. Jiang Yuyan didn't know how to reply to him so she decided to change the topic for a while.
"First have breakfast and we can talk about it when you get relaxed."
"Hmm!"
As they went downstairs, Lu Lijun was there. Seeing his brother he was happy and came to him. "How is grandpa, elder brother?"
"He is fine."
"Can I come to see him?"
"You can but once you are back from school."
Being an obedient boy, Lu Lijun listened to him. Lu Feng and Lu Qiang went for breakfast and only these two were there as it was past breakfast time and other family members had done it already. Lu Han and his wife join them too.
The atmosphere around was dead silent as everyone noticed Lu Qiang was unusually calm and serious. His mother and others thought it must be because of his grandpa's condition but Lu Feng and Jiang Yuyan knew it was something else.
In a while, Lu Lijun came to the dining room. "Yuyan, don't you want to go to university today. It's getting late."
Jiang Yuyan thought to take off but Lu Qiang replied instead of Jiang Yuyan. "Wait for a while. I will drop both of you."
Finally, everyone heard him saying something and gave out a sigh of relief. He finished breakfast in a hurry and got up from the chair as if he ate just for the sake of eating.
No one could say anything seeing him serious but to swallow the words back what they wanted to say. His mother looked at Jiang Yuyan as if asking what happened but so Jiang Yuyan shook her head lightly saying nothing.
Lu Qiang sat in the car waiting for his wife and brother. Lu Lijun and Jiang Yuyan came out of the mansion with the bags in their hands.
"Is something wrong with elder brother today?" Li Lijun asked.
"He must be stressed because of grandpa's condition," Jiang Yuyan replied though it was not the complete truth.
"I don't think so. I know elder brother well. There must be something that is bothering him and he is restless."
It shocked Jiang Yuyan to see how this little guy knew his brother well. "Might be but we don't need to worry about him as he can handle it."
"Hmm!"
On the way to the university, Lu Qiang was silent. Lu Lijun and Yuyan too said nothing. Dropping both of them, Lu Qiang went to the hospital first and getting updates on his grandpa, he went to the office where San Zemin was waiting for him already.
The moment San Zemin received a message from Lu Qiang to come to the office, he rushed knowing there must be something important as Lu Qiang asked for him suddenly.
"Good Morning, president Lu," San Zemin said while standing as he waited for Lu Qiang to sit in his chair.
"Have a seat, San Zemin." Saying Lu Qinag sat in his chair.
San Zemin noticed Lu Qinag was serious just as he looked when Lu Lijun got kidnapped so he said, "Seems like this time there is something very serious."
Not answering him, Lu Qiang spoke. "I want the details about Lu Feng and my grandpa."
"Huh?" It surprised San Zemin because Lu Qiang never asked him to look into his family members.
"I want to know everything about my grandpa since he was in our ancestral town. It would be better to get his whole life history. About Lu Feng, I want to know about his life since my father's accident."
"Can I ask the reason?"
"That I too don't know. I can tell you once I get to know about these two," Lu Qiang replied, not knowing what he was searching for.
"Okay!" Saying, San Zemin left and Li Qiang was still thinking about the possible things, trying to remember the period of his father's accident. 1
He tried to remember when and how Lu Feng's behavior suddenly changed. He remembered, just after two to three days of his father's accident when his father was out of danger and as a son of Lu Jinhai, few board members asked him to take the place of his father until he gets better, Lu Qiang decided to ask Lu Feng to do it.
That day he called Lu Feng but Lu Feng didn't answer his calls so he was waiting for Lu Feng to come back home. Lu Feng came back but late at night. Knowing Lu Feng was back, Lu Qiang went to his room. Lu Feng was sitting at the edge of the bed silently and expressionless.
Lu Qiang called him and Lu Feng didn't look at him but just hummed.
