"He did, but I went there on time and asked him to step aside as I know the file," Lu Jinhai replied.
"Good or we thought he would get to know about it." Both elders felt as if it had lifted the huge burden on their chest.
"Even if he does, what is the problem? We know him well and it would be safe with him," Lu Jinhai asked.
He was sure; he had to explain everything to his son as he must have so many questions in his mind. By asking it, Lu Jinhai was trying to get his parent's permission indirectly.
"It is about the promise I made in the past. Letting others know about it, is like not fulfilling that promise. Since the start, I should have been careful. I didn't even want you to know about it but things went otherwise." Elder Lu said to which Lu Jinhai said nothing.
Seeing his son so calm, elder Lu continued. "It's not like I don't trust you but I wanted to continue as if there was no such thing."
Lu Jinhai understood his father, always. "Hmm! I understand, Father. After all, I was the reason for it. I can just assure that I will always follow your wish and whatever promise you made, I will take them all as those were made by me and fulfill them till the moment I am alive."
Elder Lu always knew how much he was lucky to have such a filial son. Lu Jinhai never once disappointed his father and always respected his father's wish.
Looking at his wife, elder Lu asked, "Sometimes, I wonder, what kind of good deeds I have done in my past life to have such kids who are no less than a treasure."
Grandma Zhao Shuang nodded and said, "Not just you but I feel the same. We must have saved the country in our past life."
Lu Jinahi smiled hearing it and said, "I would be the third one to save the country as I got parents like you."
All three laughed at it and continued talking.
In Jiang Yang's cabin…
Jiang Yang was busy with his patients and once he finished his work, he came back to his cabin where he saw Lu Qiang was waiting for him.
"As I saw my handsome brother-in-law here, all my tiredness went away. Why are you so handsome, my dear brother-in-law?"
"Was my handsome brother not enough for you that now you are hitting on what belongs to your sister?"
Acting as if he was sad, Jiang Yang said, "That lucky little birdie."
"If you are that sad to let me go to your sister, I can call your darling here so that you can overcome the sadness."
"Good idea. Call him right now," Jiang Yang said but Lu Qiang didn't call Lu Feng.
As exactly, Jiang Yang suspected that there was something wrong. "Tell me what happened between both of you?"
Lu Qiang looked at him and said, "You started all that shameless teasing just to get it to this point as you already suspected us."
"What can I say? I have my unique ways."
"I always wonder how the conversation ends up at the point where you want to take it exactly."
"That's my skill, brother in law. Now tell me or do you want me to call you handsome once again?"
"No need as I know how handsome I am the way your sister drools over me."
"Hmm! Are you going to tell me or not?"
"I don't know what I should tell you as I too don't know the whole thing."
"Is it related to Lu Feng."

"Take your time. If there is someone you want to share, you know this handsome doctor is always here."
"I know." Saying Lu Qiang passed the file in hands to Jiang Yang. "When have you planned the surgery?"
"The day after tomorrow?" Jiang Yang replied, going through the old file.
"I will take a leave," Lu Qiang said and Jiang Yang nodded.
In the night, Lu Feng stayed back with his grandpa and Lu Qiang left for home with his father and grandmother as he wanted to get the answers to his questions from his father. After the dinner when others went to their rooms, Lu Jinhai signaled Lu Qiang to come with him. They went to the huge gallery on the second floor. Which was accessible by both north and south wings of the first floor of the mansion.
As it was a late-night, everyone went to sleep so there was no issue in talking about the things in the gallery.
As they reached the gallery, Lu Jinhai stood up near the railing, looking at the sky above while Lu Qiang stayed back a few steps away.
"You can ask what you want to." Lu Jinhai spoke.
Till now, Lu Qiang was eager to know everything but as the moment came and his father was willing to tell him everything without him insisting on anything, he felt short for the words thinking how and where to start.
"In that file. There was a document of adoption procedure," Lu Qiang said.
"Hmm! What you read in it was the truth."
Lu Qiang stayed silent and Lu Jinhai continued. "It was all because of me."
His father's words surprised him as he sensed there was more to it than just what was in the papers. "What do you mean, father?"
"I am going to tell you the incident from the past and it's just because so you know why father and mother want to hide this fact about the adoption and you will follow their wish too just as I did since the day I got to know about it."
"I will, father."
"Just like you, I was not aware of this fact until father-mother shifted with us in the city when you were still a kid. I happened to come across a few things and it shocked me as much as it shocked you. Father explained everything as when all this happened, I was just a baby."
