The words had just been spoken when laughter arose in the yard.
Gu Xiuying and Gu Caiqin were chortling as if they just heard the most ridiculous joke ever.

Madame Gu started to calculate inwardly after she found a solution to this matter.
"Mother." Gu Zhenkang spoke up, fearing that Gu Chaoyan would really request to marry the Prince.
Madame Gu gave him a look of assurance.
Then she said seriously, "How dare you raise a condition when you are supposed to treat your sister unselfishly. You are not acting like the eldest daughter of the family. No wonder your father wants to punish you. You should learn from your mistake and not hate him for that."
"Nevertheless, if you are able to cure your second sister's face, I would grant your request. But you have to promise me one thing in return for letting you escape the punishment."
Madame Gu moved her hand over the jade hanging on her waist. What she wanted most was Gu Chaoyan's position as the eldest daughter of the house because Ruxue was going to marry a Prince and she definitely deserved the best.

He could not be assured when this devious daughter went to the yard alone. She was ugly, had a poor maternal background and also lacked morals.
