Chapter 386 – Death Anniversary
When Xian Zihao called a moment ago, she heard a noise coming from the other side of the phone. It sounds like a construction site on the road near Greenville Residence. Most likely, he will be back soon.
After tidying up everything, Jiang Ruolan immediately closed the door. She looked at the door handle, not sure if she should lock it.
If she locked the door like that, she would never have the chance to enter again. If she didn't, what would happen if Xian Zihao found out about it? Sister Yanmei had already called, asking her to lock it up for her (Sister Yanmei). If she didn't, it would be selfish of her if Sister Yanmei really got caught.

When Xian Zihao entered the house, he saw that she was walking back and forth on the couch. He then closed the door slowly and asked with a smile, "What are you looking for?"

Jiang Ruolan was not sure whether she left the cleaning cloth in the small room or not. While scolding herself for being careless, she didn't want to express it too much. She just smiled and said, "It's fine. I'll just take another cleaning cloth."
She went into the bathroom to find some other cleaning cloth.
"Why is it your turn to clean up today? Sister Yanmei didn't help you?" Seeing that she was busy inside and out, Xian Zihao brought the fruit he had bought to the kitchen and washed it before cutting it. He took out the plate and placed it on the tea table.
Xian Zihao slowly walked towards Jiang Ruolan, hugged her from behind, and gently took the cloth from her hand. He helped her wipe the spots that were difficult to clean, then he continued to wipe the other spots with the cloth.
What a good husband. After being tired at his company, he helped his wife clean the house after returning home.
Jiang Ruolan sighed emotionally before saying, "An old man in Sister Yanmei's family is very ill and needs immediate surgery. She went back to take care of him, so I'm in charge of cleaning our house today. Anyway, it's very good for me to exercise a lot now."
"Exercise can also be done in different ways. It's up to you to wash clothes or go for a walk. Cleaning work like this will leave you exposed to too much dust, so it's not suitable for you to do so." Xian Zihao wiped another door for her while checking other places to make sure they were clean before returning the cloth to her.
Jiang Ruolan took the cleaning cloth and answered with an "oh" before turning around and returning to the bathroom.
"After washing your hands, come here and eat the fruit. I just bought it, so it's still fresh. If you eat it later, it will rot. Listen to me, hmmm?"
Xian Zihao's voice was very gentle. Jiang Ruolan just gave a soft "En" before closing the bathroom door. She whispered, "I'm covered in dust, so I'll take a shower first."
Usually, when Xian Zihao comes home from work, Jiang Ruolan will be the first person to greet him with a smile. She then took off his coat and asked him to get a shower. She didn't do that today, but since he came back earlier today, she hoped he didn't think too much about it.
Jiang Ruolan twisted open the shower in the bathroom. Warm water dripped from the top of her head. She closed her eyes and her mind full of the photos of her mother's suicide.
Hearing the sound of water in the bathroom, Xian Zihao took the newspaper off the couch and looked at it. Then, he seemed to remember something and turned his head to look at the small room's door.
Remembering that he had not yet taken out the laptop, he put down the newspaper and walked over to open the door. Just as he was about to leave, he caught a glimpse of a cleaning cloth on the doorknob on the other side of the door.
He paused, then took the cleaning cloth. He held it in his hand. The cleaning cloth was still wet.
After Jiang Ruolan took a shower, she saw Xian Zihao sitting on the couch, reading a newspaper. His shirt's collar was unbuttoned two times, and his hair wasn't as tidy as it usually was.
She wiped her hair as she walked over to him. Leaning over, she took a piece of peeled kiwi fruit that had been cut by Xian Zihao into her mouth.
"Ah, why is it so sour!"
Xian Zihao put down the newspaper and looked at her in amusement. "You've been looking for sour food in the last few months. I specifically bought this sour fruit, but now, you complain about it?"
"Haven't I already passed the stage of eating sour food?" The corner of Jiang Ruolan's mouth twitched as she ate another piece. She put it into her mouth and mumbled, "Still, it's fine. It's not that sour. I'm just exaggerating."

After Jiang Ruolan finished showering, her previously anxious mood already became calm. Without thinking too much, she sat down next to Xian Zihao, looked up at his face, and blinked as she asked, "Hubby, are you taking a day off this weekend?"
Xian Zihao smiled as he hugged her and kissed her head. His gaze was softer than before as he looked into her eyes and said, "I promise to accompany you to buy clothes for our child. I will not break my promise."
"Can you postpone it? There's something I need to do this Saturday." Jiang Ruolan blinked. "I had almost forgotten about it."
With that, she wrapped her arms around his neck and said softly, "This Saturday is the day of my mother's death. I want to go back to G City. Her grave is very hidden, but Yijun and I know the place. If you have time, you can accompany me to see my mother. If you don't have time, then I'll go back by myself, okay?"
Xian Zihao thought of something and looked at Jiang Ruolan silently for a moment. Then he said, "Death Anniversary? This Saturday?"
"I calculate it according to the lunar calendar. It's the 19th of the third month of the lunar calendar."
After she spoke, Jiang Ruolan pursed her lip, "It's okay if you don't have time. I'm just afraid that you won't trust me back to G City alone, so I want to discuss it with you first. Actually, you know about my friends in G City. It's okay if I go there alone. In other words, I will stay there for two to three days."
"I'll accompany you." Xian Zihao pressed her into his embrace, "Silly girl, how can I not accompany you with something like this? We were in the United States a few days ago, I was still thinking if I would delay you from going to sweep the tomb. Since it's this Saturday, as your husband, it's my duty to do that. I also will pay respect to my mother-in-law."
Jiang Ruolan immediately smiled and hugged his neck before giving him a big kiss on the cheek. "Husband, you are the best!"
At this moment, Jiang Ruolan saw the cleaning cloth that she had forgotten on the tea table. She was stunned for a moment before she came out of his arms and took it. "Where did you find it?"
Xian Zihao glanced at her indifferently. There was no joy or anger in his eyes. He just looked at her calmly before saying softly. "Over there, on the floor."
He jabbed his chin casually at the floor outside the small room door and didn't look at her again.
