“I’m proud that Dad praises me like that,” Lu Manman said as she looked at the desolate streets of Wen City. She heaved a sigh of relief. She was not afraid that others would not understand, but she was afraid that her dad would be put in a spot.

“You sent me in and then got me out. Lu Manman, what are you thinking?!” Lu Xuanran growled. “Don’t be the good and bad guy at the same time. I’m the second young master of the Lu family! I don’t need you here!”
Lu Manman did not have the time to talk to him. She turned around and left.
“Lu Manman!” Lu Xuanran pulled her back forcefully.
Lu Manman could even feel her arm hurting under Lu Xuanran’s palm.
She furrowed her brows, and her expression darkened. “Lu Xuanran, I don’t mind calling the police!”
Lu Xuanran’s face went red with anger, and he shoved Lu Manman away. He growled, “What’s so great about you, Lu Manman? You’re just a woman! Do you think you can manage Lu Firm well?! The tradition of Northern Xia dictates that the company will be inherited by men, and you’re just a woman. From the moment you were born, you were destined to be a good-for-nothing! I’m the true successor of the Lu family!”
Lu Manman sneered. “I finally understand why your great-grandfather didn’t leave Lu Firm to your grandfather and your father. He probably knew that your father would bring up a son like you who speaks without thinking.”

“Lu Xuanran, you’d better understand this! Lu Firm’s largest shareholder is my father, Lu Zishan. Do you think your father would hand over such a huge Lu Firm to you unconditionally?! Aren’t you being too optimistic?!”

With that, she turned around and left.
