The door of the cell was pushed open.
There weren’t any secret mechanisms that Ye Tianxin had imagined. It was just an ordinary room.
The room wasn’t that big, and three steel bunk beds occupied the room. There were cotton blankets and clothes on each bed. Each bed frame had a sticker indicating whose bed it was.
There was an office desk in the middle of the room.
And on the desk was an ordinary notebook.
The shelves at the entrance of the room had six cups and toothbrushes of different colors, and six military-use water bottles hung on the wall.
“They even prepared beds. Ye Tianxin, if not for your inquisitiveness, we might still have to sleep on those chairs.”
Mu Yuluo’s bed was right above Ye Tianxin’s by coincidence. She stretched out her hand and felt the firmness of the bed. Of course, it could not be as soft as her bed at home. But having a bed in a place like this was a luxury.
They naturally could not expect much during such drastic times.
There were a pair of yellow plastic boots set in front of every bed. Ye Tianxin sat on the edge of the bed and tried the boots on.
They were neither too big nor too small. They fit just right.
“Ye Tianxin, are you going to change your clothes? Hang on. Let’s see if there are any cameras in here first.”
Mu Yuluo began to search for cameras. Ji Nuan stood by the window and called out for Wei Weiwei, Xiao Mengmeng, and Yao Qinghan, telling them to come over.
Ye Tianxin bent down and looked under her bed.
There was a toolbox under the bed, and, when she opened it, she found a shovel.
Ye Tianxin carried the toolbox to the desk and left it there.
About 10 minutes later, Wei Weiwei, Xiao Mengmeng, and Yao Qinghan arrived on the third floor. The three girls looked at the room and started screaming in delight.
“Goodness! There are beds!”
Yao Qinghan walked up to her bed and climbed quickly. She lay down on her bed and looked at the concrete ceiling above her and sighed in comfort.
“Ye Tianxin, how did you find this place?”
Yao Qinghan sprawled out on her bed and looked at Ye Tianxin from above. Her voice still sounded sweet and childlike.
Mu Yuluo put the wireless cameras she and Ye Tianxin had found on the table. “The cells we were in had these wireless pinhole cameras. There should be cameras elsewhere, too,” Mu Yuluo stated. “However, these cameras are just too small, and it’s a waste of time and energy to search for them. The map to this room was drawn on the back of the board where we first gathered. Ji Nuan unlocked the door. I suggest that we get changed first.”
“But what if there are pinhole cameras here as well?” Yao Qinghan wondered. “Then wouldn’t others see us when we are changing?”
“We can take turns to change.” Ye Tianxin lifted a blanket and said, “We can make our own changing room.”
The five of them could stand around in a circle and cover the ground and their heads with blankets. If they all stood about-face, none of them would be able to see the person changing.
