“Wow, Boss Lady, all the spots on your face are gone. Is that the result from the folk prescription? See, I told you. That prescription works like a champ. My sister-in-law’s spots lightened up after she tried it. But it worked even better you. I couldn’t see any of them any more and your skin has become fairer and you’ve gotten a lot skinner. You have any suggestion on weight loss?” The short girl thought that it was the effect from her folk prescription and was particularly happy.
Shu Yan didn’t know what to say to that. “No, I got diarrhea from the folk prescription and had to go to see a doctor. The doctor looked at the prescription and told me that it was for cooling, detoxification, and cleansing of your system. My body was cold by nature and doesn’t mesh well with it. I had my spots removed with laser at the hospital.”
“You got upset stomach from it?” The short girl looked worried. “I didn’t know it would have that effect on you. It really worked very well for my sister-in-law.”
“It’s fine.” Shu Yan was complaining to the girl. She meant well. It was her own fault for resorting to trying it. She should have consulted a doctor first. As such, she smiled and said, “The prescription is fine. It just doesn’t mesh well with the composition of my body. But you probably shouldn’t be giving that to other either. Each person’s composition is different. Just because it was good for your sister-in-law, doesn’t mean it will be suitable for everyone else. I only got upset stomach from it. If other experiences more serious symptoms, they will be going after you.”
The girl nodded. She had given the prescription to both Shu Yan and a coworker of hers. It worked well for her coworker as well. She hadn’t expected that Shu Yan would have reacted so strongly to it. She should stop giving it out to others. She didn’t want her good intention to bring harm to others. If anything bad should happen, they might hold her accountable.
Shu Yan had already noticed that this body was fair by nature. She had covered up for one winter and she was a few shades lighter than she was before. Plus the skincare that she had been doing. She now looked fairer than most other people.
“Okay. I get it. Thank you for boss lady’s advice. By the way, Boss Lady, do you have any promotions going on right now? There was so much going on that I haven’t purchase my winter clothes yet.”
“I do. You come just at the right time. I have a few styles that are running low on stock so I have discounted them. There’s a few of them with small sizes. Give them a try. Shu Yan picked out the few that had small sizes and have her pick out the ones that she liked.
After the two customers were gone, Shu Yan gave Zhang Huaxiu a heads-up before she took off to Lao Zhang’s factory.
Lao Zhang and Ye Shuqin did not spend too much time idling over the new year time frame. When Shu Yan arrived at the factory, she saw that the second and third floor had already been cleared out and being worked on.
“Do you think we are adding too many machines in one go?” Shu Yan felt that Lao Zhang was expanding too quickly.
“No worries. We still have an order from last year that we haven’t worked on yet. And we have someone coming for a tour this afternoon. They would place an order if they like what they see and their order would not be any less than the one from our Taiwan customer.”
“Well, then, congratulation on your grand opening,” said Shu Yan jokingly.
“Same to you. Same to you.”
Shu Yan declined to stay for lunch and rushed to her company. Comparing to Lao Zhang’s, things were crazy busy on her company side.
Yanxue and Xianxue were well known country wide from their commercials and it had gone up another notch after the new year, especially when many had caught wind after the launch of their first batch of franchisees and called to express their interests. Inside their company now was busy like a food market. There were all sorts of inquiries about joining the franchise and the employees of the company were busy explaining it to them.
They could no longer tell which ones were the original marketing department employees. The ones from administration, finance, and design departments had all come over to help out.
