Chapter 364: “That’s alright. School is not starting just yet. You get some rest.” (3)
“Your brother had been divorced for so many years and had never been interested in another woman. He’s finally showing interest in someone, why does it have to be someone unavailable?” Mother Hu sighed. Then, turning toward Hu Ruixue, asked, “What about you? You plan on staying single for the rest of your life? You are not that much older than Shu Yan. If she can find someone else, why can’t you? With Duoduo’s condition, what are you going to do when you grow old? Mom is not asking you to get married right now. Just meeting people. You just might meet someone suitable. We will grow old too. What happens when we are no longer around and you are old? Who is going to take care of Duoduo? She will have someone to rely on if you give her a brother or sister.”
Parents always think more and farther out than their children. Both of their children were divorced and had them worried.
How did she become the center of attention all of a sudden? Hu Ruixue retreated from the battlefield quickly.
She understood why her parents asked her to be with someone else but she really had no intention to do so at all right now. She was busy with her company and her daughter needed her attention. Not to mention that she strongly believed that there was no such thing as love. The incident might seemingly be over but the pain she had gone through was still there.
Shu Yan had no idea that Hu Ruiyang was interested in her for a brief moment. She just might lose appetite over that.
The commercials worked out very well. Many were already asking about it before their counters had opened up. They were very curious what kind of a domestic brand was able to win so many awards overseas.
They were not disappointed. The outfits were classic, poised, and included very Chinese elements in them. They were very dignified and elegant.
The sales numbers all over were impressive. Many of the styles were gone as soon as they were placed on the shelf. The few limited-edition ones, in particular, were gone before they had even been placed on the shelves.
“Our designs had been chosen,” said Hu Ruixue happily when she walked inside of Shu Yan’s office.
“Which ones?”
“The cloud series ones were chosen by a major competition overseas. I will have someone book the tickets right now and head over with Xia Ruo.” Hu Ruixue only entered into that competition as they were already there and figured that they had nothing to lose. She hadn’t expected that they would actually win.
“That’s awesome. You should head out soon then. I will hold down the fort here so you don’t need to worry about anyway.” Shu Yan called Xia Ruo and had her come to her office.
But then Shu Yan would need to push back going to see the ocean with her kids for a few more days. JingJing and Tianbao were a little disappointed when she told them.
“I’m sorry. Mom has been very busy. How about next week? We will definitely go next week.” She knew that she must do what she had promised the children but this was a last-minute thing. She couldn’t just drop her work and go on a trip.
A theory is a theory. She couldn’t just follow the child-rearing books to a T. Now that Shu Yan had some experience raising children, she felt that all the books or whatever the experts said were all a joke. Reasoning with the kids? You must be joking. They wouldn’t be kids if you could reason with them.
Hu Ruixue returned with Xia Ruo with their heads held high. They didn’t even need to reach out to the publishers this time; they came looking for them and they got a round of free advertisements.
Xianyan was already a high-end brand in Chinese eyes and no worse than the major overseas brands. Hu Ruixue said some of her girlfriend loved Xianyan.
“A few more competitions and we will be able to host our own shows next year. We will invite some celebrities to attend and that would bring us to the next level.”
Becoming a luxurious brand was not easy. One couldn’t just have high pricing point and called it a luxurious brand. It would have to get there over time. It could not be rushed.
“We will take our time. One can’t have hot tofu if one is impatient. We are already doing quite well for ourselves.” Shu Yan was quite pleased with their accomplishment so far. It hasn’t even been a year yet and their company had already achieved a lot.
“I’m not in a rush. I know that you have promised your kids. How about day after tomorrow? Give me a couple of days to rest up then you can take off,” said Hu Ruixue with a smile.
“That’s fine. We still have some time before school starts again. You get some rest.”
